Chapter 16
The week went by faster than I thought it would.
I really didn't want to
go to the prom anymore, but I knew
I had no choice. The day before Nick and I
went out
for pizza together. We were getting along
better everyday.
"I
got an A on that exam you helped me with," I said
taking a sip of my coke.
"You
did? That's great!" He said smiling big.
"It's only because you
helped me," I said shrugging. "But
I appreciate it. Good thing Mr.
Oman fell asleep again
or I would have never gotten it
done," I said
picking off a pepperoni.
"How about just saying thanks?"
"Thank
you Nick," I said wiping my mouth. I kissed
his cheek lightly and smiled.
"I
should help you everyday," he said as I laughed.
"Hey are you going
to the prom
tomorrow?" I asked curiously.
"Yeah, my mom is
forcing me. She says it's something
I should go to so when I get older I can
tell everyone
I did things in high school."
"You know Vicki
and my dad are going to be there…"
"Oh God!" He said as I
laughed.
"What time is it?" I asked as he looked at his watch.
"9,"
he said confidently.
"Oh God, I gotta go. Can you take me home?"
"Sure,"
he said getting up.

"Thanks
for the pizza, I love pizza," I said as Nick
as we walked to my window.
"How
can you resist pizza? I reeled you in see,
I knew you couldn't resist,"
he said as I smiled.
"I'll see you tomorrow at the prom?" I asked
opening
my window. I turned and faced him, sitting
on the windowsill.
"Yeah,"
he said nodding.
"Why don't you just tell your mom no?"
"She's
still mad at me for saying what I said to you.
I have to do it or she'll bite
my head off
and feed it to Chaos," he said as I got up.
"I'm
glad you're going," I said hugging
him tight. I kissed his cheek lightly
and smiled.
"Goodnight Nick."
"Night Jess," he said
turning and walking to his house.
I sighed and went inside, closing the
window quietly
and looking at him walk away.
I laid down on my bed and
closed my eyes…
"May I have this dance?" Nick asked in
his
good-looking way.
"Of course," I said as Nick took my hand.
"You
make my heart flutter! Oh Jess, I love you!" Nick
said as he kissed me
with passion! We danced the
night away after confessing our undying love
for
one another.
"Jess?" Ryan asked as I opened my eyes.
"Huh?"
I asked sitting up.
"Phone," he said throwing the phone on my bed.
"Thanks,"
I said picking up the phone. "Hello?"
"Jess! Turn on the
t.v.!" Cindy said anxiously.
"Why?" I asked walking up the
stairs quietly.
I walked over to the t.v. and sat down in front of it.
"Just
turn it to channel 6!"
"Whatever," I said turning it. It
was the guys!
"Thanks Brian. And Nick, what about you?
You have
any special girl in your life?"
The reporter asked.
"Um, not
at this moment but I am looking at someone
as of now," he said into the
mic. His blue eyes looked
into the camera as my blue eyes looked at him.
"Cindy…I'm
in love!" I said stroking the t.v.
