"Wait a minute. Do I know you from somewhere?"
Kevin stopped in his tracks. "So close..." he muttered under his breath. He removed his hat and sat down next to her. He looked straight into her eyes.
"Pardon"
"It's Lysha, right?"
"Yeah, why? Who wants to know?"
"It's Kevin." "OMIGOD. Kevin!"
They hugged and chatted about old times and just had fun. Kevin pushed her wheelchair down to the cafeteria and then up to Brian's room to bring him some Jell-O.
He was packing his bags.
"You're leaving." Lysha said, quietly.
"Yeah. I'm going home." Brian responded as he shoved his cd's into his duffel.
"Well, I wish you the best of luck, Mr. Littrell." Lysha burst as she wheeled her chair out of the room.
"You don't recognize her, do you?" Kev asked as he sat down on the bed.
"She was my doctor. That's it." Brian replied.
"I don't think so, Bri..."
Lysha pulled around the corner into her room. She leaped into bed and pulled the sheets right up to her ears. Whenever anyone walked in, she deepened her breathing and shut her eyes tight. Sleeping. Yeah, right.
