Brian grew continually better each day and moved out of the ICU, and Lysha grew continually worse. Lysha prayed every day for Brian and the group's well-being. It was the first time she had prayed since she was five.
~FLASHBACK~
Lysha would spent most of her time lying down, looking at the ceiling Brian noticed. She prayed constantly. And one day, she just stopped. When he asked her why, she could only say that God couldn't hear her, so why bother.

When she felt her worst, she thought of the good times. The friendship with that happy-go-lucky five year old, the romance with the bumbling teenager, and the laughter shared with her last patient. Little did she know, he was the one and same man.

"You don't know 'Amazing Grace'?"
"No."
"Oh. O.K. it goes like this...."
*1990*
Brian leaned in to kiss her. He softly touched his lips to hers. As the kiss deepened, Lysha returned the passion felt.
"You know I love you, right?" Brian whispered as he pulled away.
"I love you too."
*May 7, 1998*
"Are you my doctor?"
She laughed. "Were you expecting an older gray-haired man with glasses?"
"Well, yeah."

A tall, dark man brought her out of her dreamland.
"Excuse me, do you know where Brian Littrell has gone?" he said as he braced himself for the worst.
"Yeah," she answered. "He was moved out of ICU."
The man sighed in relief. "Thank you."
"No problem. Wait a minute, do I know you from somewhere?"
