Q. Where is San Sebastian de Garabandal? Note: Further references will be to "Garabandal"
A. Garabandal is located in the Cantabrian Mountains of Northwest Spain. It is a small hamlet of some 80 humble dwellings.
Q. What is this "miracle" I keep hearing about?
A. Our Lady appeared to four young girls on multiple occasions beginning on July 2, 1961. She asked for sacrifice, prayer, conversion, and penance. She warned of God's wrath if we did not ask his forgiveness and change our lives for the better through fasting and prayer. She also spoke of a "Warning", a "Miracle" and a "Sign". We were to receive a Warning from God that would be felt by every living soul on earth. We would then be witness to a great Miracle (those persons at Garabandal or the surrounding mountains). After the great Miracle, a permanent visible supernatural Sign will remain at Garabandal until the end of time (this Sign will be visible, will be able to be photographed, yet will have no "substance"). However, if after the Miracle the world does not change, God will send the Chastisement. As a result of the Miracle, Russia will be converted.
Q. When is the Miracle to occur?
A. The Miracle will take place within a 12 month period after the Warning. It will take place at the grove of pine trees on a bluff overlooking the village. It will occur on a Thursday evening at 8:30 on or between the eighth and the sixteenth of March, April or May. One of the Visionaries (Conchita) knows the date and will announce it eight days in advance. It will be on the feast day of a little known martyr of the Eucharist, and will coincide with an event in the Church.
Q. Why should I go?
A. All those people that are in the village or in the surrounding mountains will see it. The sick who are present will be cured regardless of illness or disability, sinners will be converted and the incredulous will believe.
