A poem to an Angel.....

A poem to my Angel:
The sullen prince had set forth alone,
no princess there now, to call his own;
A vagabond lost, no goal in sight,
wandering aimless by day and by night.
No loving touch, no joyful laughter;
No love, no life; no happy-ever-after,
An empty shell, a withered husk;
A heart that had crumbled, turned to dust.
Days become weeks; months become years,
as time pays no heed to sorrow and tears.
Yet life must continue through hardship and pain;
Faith provides hope, to help ease the strain.
One fresh new day, that prince sought the path,
began to purge his deep inner wrath;
Began to perceive a strange new light,
all shimmering colours, hallowed and bright.
Standing transfixed, eyes wide with wonder,
his heartbeat a crashing cacophony of thunder;
A form had appeared from within the bright light,
A visage of beauty; a pure delight.
A beautiful being, a feminine form;
He felt her pure love and his heart was reborn.
Her smile, warm and friendly, she called out his name;
He felt his soul warmed by a spark, then a flame.
Her eyes they sparkled, like diamonds so bright;
her hair, it reflected a fiery red light.
Her lips pretty pink; her ears perfect shells,
her voice warm and clear as the finest church bells.
He took a step forward, then offered his hand;
It did not to him seem an unreasonable demand,
but she stood there steadfast, beginning to cry;
He saw then the wings which she needed to fly.
For she was an angel; A vision, but real,
Sent to inspire, reawaken, and heal.
Yet something felt different, this time around;
Almost thought that she felt, her feet touch the ground.
She gazed into his eyes, and right then she knew,
that he was most special, loving and true.
She looked to the heavens and spoke with the Lord,
felt certain her plea, could not be ignored.
She knew that together, they were meant to stay,
although heavy a price, she would have to pay.
Still, true love was worth, that great sacrifice;
To stay with this man, she would pay any price.
He knew it then too, what was meant to be;
Long lost other half, his Angel was she.
He prayed to the Lord, and wished on a star,
then heard a great rumbling approach from afar.
A blinding white flash, the smell of ozone,
As suddenly he stood once again, all alone.
But when the smoke cleared, he looked to the ground;
There lay the most beautiful woman he'd found.
He rushed to her aid, swept her up in his arms,
felt no breath of life and cried out in alarm!
A tear shed then fell, upon her fair skin;
Her eyes fluttered open and beamed up at him.
He held her so close, as they shared their first kiss,
and thanked the creator for granting their wish.
None would have believed, that this ever could be;
Love made it happen. Their love set them free.
