Pokémon FAQ

Q: Is my Gameboy Color's Infrared Connection compatible with Pokemon?

A: No, you must buy a Game Link Cable to trade.

Q: How do I stop my Pokemon from evolving?

A: Once it starts to naturally evolve (meaning no use of Stones or trading), simply press B to cancel the process. Once the Pokemon gains another Level, it'll try to evolve again.

Q: What's the difference between the Red Version and the Blue?

A: The only difference is that they both contain some Pokemon that can not be found in the other. Here's a list of the Pokemon: Red Version: Ekans, Arbok, Electabuzz, Growlithe, Arcanine, Mankey, Primeape, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Scyther. Blue Version: Sandshrew, Sandslash, Magmar, Vulpix, Ninetales, Meowth, Persian, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebell, Pinsir.

Q: What's the difference between Boosted EXP (Experience Points)and Regular EXP?

A: Boosted EXP allows a Pokemon to gain about 1/2 more EXP than a Pokemon with Regular EXP, Boosted EXP is only caused by trading Pokemon with someone else.

Q: Why does my Pokemon not obey me?

A: You must get the Badge that allows you to command a higher level Pokemon!

Q: How many Masterballs are in the game?

A: Only one, so use it on a one-time Pokemon like Mewtwo.

Q: If I defeat the the very rare Pokemon (Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Snorlax, Mewtwo) is there any other way to get them?

A: No, so once you defeat one, it's gone for good! (With the exception of Snorlax, who you will fight twice) However if you use the Cinnibar Island Trick [Featured on the Pokemon Cheats Page] You can catch these Pokemon if you're lucky.

Q: What do you get for capturing all 150 Pokemon?

A: A man in Celadon City will give you a Diploma in the U.S. Version. If you do this with the Japanese Version, you'd get the Pokemon, Mew!

Q: Is there any other way to get Mew without cheating?

A: NO!!!
