The list is Owned by "Clan MacKenzie in the Americas". Membership in "Clan MacKenzie in the Americas" is encouraged, but not required for participation.

The purpose of the list is to be a forum for discussion on Genealogy or Scottish History to those of Mac/MacKenzie descendants or its Septs. Subscribers of the list have a chance to meet other subscribers in the chance that they might find others in the same line. While this occasionally occurs, one should not expect Genealogy to be that easy.
