Born in 1842, he tells the story of his life in growing up in Gairloch and the experiences of the great famine of 1846-48. An important book for Mackenzie historians.

An Old Mackenzie Genealogy and a
New Look at the Fitzgerald Connection

Privately published by the Clan MacKenzie Society, this hard cover book is limited to only 100 copies and are individually numbered and signed by the author.
The first part of the book reproduces an old genealogy written in 1669 by a "persone of Qualitie."
The second part reviews this history and examines the possibility of the Fitzgerald origins of the Mackenzies.
There are illistrations including seals from the 1500s. The cover is hardbound, simulated brown leather, with titling and crest in gold.
