Superman Hits It Big
"Superman Returns" conquered the Fourth of July weekend box office cashing in $76 million. The take pushed the film over $100 million in its first seven days.
"The Devil Wears Prada," the film adaptation of the book with the same name, brought in $40 million for second place. "Click" was third ($29 million), Disney's "Cars" ($22 million)was fourth and "Nacho Libre" was fifth ($9 million).
BBC Looks To Big Screen
BBC is looking into making some of hits series into feature films, especially "The Office," which was remade for the U.S. Other BBC titles include a sketch comedy "Little Britain" and "Extras."
Richards plays Depp's Dad
Rollings Stones frontman Keith Richards will play Johnny Depp's father in "The Pirates of the Caribbean" sequel. In the first film, Depp said he looked to Richards as inspiration for his character. Now it shows the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
