 The post office defines a standard sized package as one which has a length on the longest side plus the distance around the thickest part of 84 inches or less (see diagram). A large package is more than 84 inches and less than 108 inches and is billed at a minimum 30 pound rate, while a very large package is over 108 inches but less than 130 inches and billed at the 70 pound rate. Any package over 130 inches is prohibited in the USPS system.

Very large packages are unable to be shipped Priority Mail. The only option available with this size of packaging is Parcel Post.
