It is time for the December issue of  HOOKED!

Our pattern this month is sure to please any teddy bear lover on your Christmas list

Our little Lucy Polar Bear is quick and easy to make.  The bear takes about a fat quarter to hook.   Use our ALAMO WHITE for a perfect polar bear. You can use scraps for her dress or select one of our fabulous pastels like OLD WILD ROSE (as shown) or PINK MAHOGANY.  The flower on her dress can be hooked or needle felted with our hand-dyed roving. 

Sebastian Bear can be made out of JANICE’S ANTIQUE BLACK(as shown) or use a scrumptious brown like IRON HORSE or DUSTY BEAR BROWN.  His sweater can be striped or use the colors of your favorite school team!!  Add a big team letter to his sweater and he will be ready for your favorite bowl game.

Tips on finishing bears……

I cut two bear shapes out of wool to make the bear form.  I sew them together on the machine (don’t forget to leave a hole for the stuffing), turn him right side out, stuff the bear and then hand stitch him shut.  I take the hooked bear, turn the edges under and then hand sew the hooked bear to the finished wool bear form with heavy-duty thread

Start now, you can have one under your Christmas tree in a jiffy!!

Whats NEW in the dye pot??????

I have been working on a new dark series of browns and brown/blacks.  For a delicious background  or great animal color try IRON HORSE or DARK HORSE. 

REDS  GREENS  GOLDS

Need a new RED or GREEN for an appliqué project?  The perfect GOLD for hooking stars?  Call me and we can select just the color you need.  Remember, I am always happy to send swatches to help your decision making.

THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS…….were never like this!!!!   For 6 Fridays before and 6 Fridays after Christmas the ladies will be bringing treats to our regular Friday hook-in. This is just a sneaky excuse (my idea) to get to sample all the wonderful treats these ladies are making.  They are all great cooks!! .   Stop by if you are in the area.  We love visitors!  Or become a regular on Fridays, everyone is welcome  We hook from 12:30 to whenever.

Open Hooking
We have open hooking every Friday form 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the store. Everyone is welcome, there is no charge. Bring a project, bring a friend, bring a hot topic! We welcome beginners as well as experienced rug hookers. Come for advice, or to give advise. You are welcome to come just for dessert, coffee and good conversation.
