FANCLUB

In mid-June, 2003, Buried Electric Cable's struggle for fame and recognition entered the phase in which it became necessary to establish a BEC fanclub. There are many reasons for this. First, due to the exponential rate in which our fame has recently been increasing, the danger of manipulators and oppertunists seizing upon our popularity to establish their own unofficial and inferior fanclubs has also been increasing. By establishing a fan club ourselves, we can better control the dissimination of information to our fans, and thus guard against rumors and slander, while also being able to influence our fans' ideologocial development. Another reason for the establishment of the fan club is for the dues fees, which permit BEC to continue to operate. As the great revolutionary leader and BEC member Guy Tar once wrote, "New instruments and the new album have plunged us back into debt, and although we've done some initial fundraising and even sold Christian into wage-slavery to help deal with the costs, we are still comming up short".

To promote our righteous and noble cause, Guy Tar wrote a lovely double sided leaflet to get the word out. The first page is a lovely poster which you can tape to your wall to show your support, while the second side features Guy Tar's letter explaining why you should join for the sake of our band as well as your own personal benefit. In a nutshell- these reasons are:

1.Fanclub members recieve Half off on ALL BEC releases and Merchendise. 2.Fanclub members recieve each month BEC's OFFICAL revolutionary newsletter. Not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, it is an organizer as well, allowing us to welding together a tight-knit base of fans committed to the principles of BEC, who can both support the band, carry out its political work, and also be source from which the Vinings Punk Rock gang can recruit. 3.Exclusive oppertunities to recieve backstage passes @ BEC shows and hook up with BEC members. 4.Fanclub members recieve an OFFICIAL BEC fanclub membership card, which acts as your personal passport to all the benefits listed here, and is also recognized as an official IDentification card at most alcohol and cigarette retailers.
