One on One roleplaying is a new feature Downtown Dogs has. If you roleplay, please neomail niiikita saying so. She will put your name on this page so others can neomail you. If you have a page of roleplaying information (what you roleplay, your rules, etc) please also give that to Niiikita. Underneath the list of roleplayers in this guild, is information on what roleplaying is, along with numerous examples of introductions, responses etc. Niiikita - Information page What is roleplaying? Roleplaying is when you make up a character and act and think like them. You first give an introduction on your character, which can either be a list intro, or a paragraph intro. On Neopets, there are many different genres including Teen, Fantasy, Books, Movies etc. Depending on what you're interested in, you can choose a certain genre. There are also different types of literacy. You can be categorized as illiterate, semi-literate, literate, or advanced. Illiterates are the type of people, who when roleplaying use chatspeak (lyk dis) and reply with short answers such as "Mark went to the mall". Semi-literates, dont use chatspeak, and can form proper sentences using decent spelling and grammar. Their post lengths are usually around three lines long and occasionally, they'll give you a decent sized post. Literates are what most people are. They use proper spelling and grammar to the best of their ability. Their responses have decent length to them, and they can keep the roleplay interesting. Advanced roleplayers usually give "novel sized" introductions, along with paragrahs in their posts. There are also a ton of different terms and codes used through-out roleplaying. There are way too many to list, so I will leave you and your exploring skills to find out what they are! If you'd like to know some, neomail niiikita and she'll gladly help you. List Introduction Name: Natalie Gender: Female Hair: Black, straight, two inches below shoulder. Eyes: Brown, with makeup. Figure: Thin; 5'4, 100 pounds. Likes: Playing soccer, hanging out. Paragraph Introduction Natalie forced here way through the 5inch packed snow, as she made the ten minute journey to her school. Her whole body shivered even though she was wearing numerous layers of clothing. A black toque covered her head, keeping her ears warm. She wore a black, "Linkin Park" t-shirt which was hidden beneath her loose, black sweater. Ontop of that was a puffy winter coat. Covering her long legs were a pair of nicely fitted jeans. She wasnt too shabby looking either. Her eyes, a dark brown, had light blue eyeshadow, and were surrounded in thick black eyeliner. Her nose was thin, and slightly rounded. Her lips were full and formed a lovely smile...etc. "Hey, wuts up?" "Hi! Like, omg! How are you?" etc... "Hey, whats up?" Greeted the sixteen year old as he approached the girl. He had taken an interest in her since two years ago, but had never mustred up the courage to talk to her. The "giraffe" as he was nicknamed, walked through the crowd, shoving through the people rudely. He didn't bother apologizing as he was in a rush, and needed to find Jenny. He called out her name numerous times, giving up after a while of no response. He finally made it through the crowd, and placed his hands on the railing. He looked down, seeing water. He was on a bridge. Im not even going to try! :P |
