CARING FOR YOUR CAT

Their everyday care requires a great deal of attention and supervision. Everything from what you feed your cat to how you regulate its litter box can affect its health and behavior. Becoming a cat owner is a large commitment, and this needs to be remembered throughout your cat's life.

FOOD

A balanced diet of fish water and milk supplemented by cat dry biscuits. Cats tend to be more fastidious than dogs in their eating habits. Their natural instint to hunt and kill is very powerful so a cat needs to be confined to protect native animals.

DISEASES

CATS GET SICK

The most widespread and serious infectious disease of cats is panleucopenia--often called cat distemper, viral enteritis, or cat typhoid. Its onset is sudden and severe, with depression, fever, loss of appetite, and vomiting of yellow fluid. Every cat should be immunized to protect it. The first vaccination is usually given when the animal is about ten weeks old, and boosters should be given annually.
