N eerajakshi - the name itself means Lotus Eyed but how she came into my life and became my life partner is a different story altogether. For that you will have to wait for another bout of nostalgia from me.

Neeraja (as she is fondly called) was born on the 8th of October, 1974 in the city of Varanasi in the late hours of the night. But most of her schooling was done at Pantnagar - in the current Uttaranchal State - except for a two year stint at Nairobi, Kenya.

Pantnagar - for the not so knowledgeable - is where the Govind Vallabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT) is located. GBPUAT along with the PUSA institute in Delhi is responsible for pioneering and heading the Green Revolution in India; a revolution which made India self sufficient in Food-grains.

After completing her graduation Neeraja went off to SNDT Bombay for a two years course in Masters in Home Science. After completing her Masters she came back to Pantnagar and reluctantly sat for the Doctoral Entrance Exam of GBPUAT. Luckily or unluckily she cleared the exam and finally completed her Doctoral degree in the Month of June 2002.
