        EPISODE GUIDE

               Episode # 11 - The Dueling Monkey

Yugi and his friends give up their search for Mokuba and decide to look for other people to duel.  Mai has been dueling hard and has already won herself 8 star chips.  Rex Raptor comes looking for revenge for when she defeated him on the boat.  He begins to brag to Mai that he has won 5 stars already but she just shows him hers.  Mai is still upset about loosing to Joey, a rookie at Duel Monsters.  She agrees to duel Rex if he beats Joey first.  Rex agrees, thinking Joey would be easy star chips.  When the find Joey, he accepts their challenge but Mai says he can't have any help from Yugi.  She claims that was the only way Joey had defeated her.  He will have to beat Rex alone.  The arena raises up and the match starts out with Rex's Two Headed King Rex against Joey's Baby Dragon.  Rex begins to make fun of Joey calling him a Dueling Monkey, since he has no clue what he is doing.  Joey gets upset and wants to win the duel even more.

The Two Headed King Rex easily defeats the Baby Dragon and Joey sends out the Axe Raider next which gets a Field Power Bonus.  It defeats Rex's monster.  Rex is upset and his next monster destroys the Axe Raider.  Tristan and Yugi talk about Joey's dueling.  Tristan thinks that Yugi should help Joey but Yugi says they have to believe in him.  He needs to win this on his own.  Back at the duel, Joey sends out the Time Wizard and Mai remembers how she lost.  She tries to warn Rex but he shakes her off.  She thinks he can't use it anyway without Yugi's help.  Yugi sends out his Flame Swordsman with his Time Wizard still on the field.  Fire is strong against Dinosaur Monsters and together, his Flame Swordsman and his Swamp Battleguard are able to fight through Rex's deck.  But then Rex sends out his Serpent Night Dragon card.  The card given to those who made it to the Regional Championships.  It is able to beat his Flame Swordsman.

Joey draws the card, Lave Battleguard, the card Tristan gave him.  He has a flashback to the time he and Tristan were together fighting rivals.  He realizes that Joey is a true friends.  He looks down at everyone and sees his friends.  He sends out the Lava Battleguard which gets a bonus when played with the Swamp Battleguard.  Together they defeat the Serpent Night Dragon and Rex tells Joey to prepare for his defeat.
