Recognitions and Appreciation

Eagle Scout Tim Leong was recognized at the annual meeting for his work on three local conservation projects, two of which were on Grosse lle. Each project was intended to be an Eagle Scout leadership project in scope and we appreciate his efforts in the conservation field.

Riverside Academy in Dearborn is recognized for encouraging student volunteerism, particularly by providing assistants for the Conservancy's Earth Day program - from setting up and leading nature games - to cleaning up. The students arrived with enthusiasm and enjoyed all facets of the program.

Ed Sperkowski is thanked for sharing his expertise with the Conservancy and the community at Intrepid Pond, for assisting in grant writing to Freshwater Futures and for his many trips and many hours of labor at the pond, both remediating and replanting.
