Joey Wheeler

     Joey is Yuig's best friend and often is his dueling partner.  He used to bully Yugi but they became friends when Yugi saved him from a bigger bully.  He learned Duel Monsters from Yugi's Grandpa and quickly became a strong duelist.  He is kind of street kid and relies on luck to get him out of tight situations.  He uses cards like Roulette Spider, and Time Wizard that can either hurt or help in a duel.  He also likes powerful cards.  Joey fights for his sister Serenity who was going blind.  With the money he got from Yugi for the Duelist Kingdom Tournament, he was able to pay for Serenity's surgery.  He still fights for his sister and his friends.  Sometimes Joey can seem like a hot head and rush into decisions.  But when he stops to think he can come up with the solution to any problem.  He wants to be a good duelist like Yugi.

     Joey got second place at Duelist Kingdom but only barley qualified for Battle City.  A Rare Hunter dueled Joey and took his Red Eye Black Dragon to but the pressure on.  Joey showed what it takes and made it to the finals.  Now he has a thing for Mai but they don't admit it, yet...

Duelist Record - He won second place in the Duelist Kingdom Tournament.  He is probably the third best duelist, loosing only to Yugi and Kaiba.

Overall importance to the Series:  9 out of 10.

     He is important to the show.  He is Yugi's sidekick and is always involved in heavy duels.  If Yugi was not there Joey could easily take over the show.
