As you can see from our recent catches, we like to fish on the beach, namely Padre Island National Seashore in Texas. A couple of years ago, several of us decided that we were going to fish harder and catch more fish than we had in the past. We tried to think of a name to capture the essence of our dedication to the sport, and a few of us formed a fishing alliance called Team Deek. Deek stands for Diehard Extremely Eccentric Kayakers. We value a team approach to fishing (and catching), and realize that we all play a part in the success of the team. Recently, we started shark fishing, and hope to use this site to share and gain information about this exciting sport. We practice catch and release shark fishing from the beach, and are voluntary participants in a tagging program to further knowledge of shark growth and reproductive patterns.
