Central Kentucky Paranormal Research Society conducted a private residence paranormal investigation in Cynthiana,KY. The investigation took place on 2/15/2008. The investigation started at 11:15pm and ended at 2:00am. Investigators that were present were Josh Biddle (Founder/President), Roger Slade (Co-Founder), Deanna Blanton (Investigator in Training), and Chris Fisher (Investigator in Training).

Central Kentucky Paranormal Research Society performed a “lights out” investigation of the home starting at 11:15 pm. Our DVR cameras were set up in the Master Bedroom, Basement, Stairway, and Upstairs Girls Bedroom (1 camera in each location). 1 Cell Sensor EMF detector was placed in front of the camera on top of the drawer in the Master Bedroom. Another Cell Sensor EMF detector was placed in front of the camera on the bed in the Upstairs Girls Bedroom. We also carried a Digital EMF detector along with us during the investigation. A Digital Audio Recorder was placed on the basement steps. We also carried 3 more recorders with us during the investigation. We also carried both Infrared Thermometers and a Digital Ambient Air Temperature Thermometer. Throughout our stay we used digital cameras with flash to take pictures.

The team was divided into two groups that rotated between the First Floor and Second Floor. Teams took turns investigating both locations and performing EVP sessions, EMF sweeps, and taking temperature readings in all areas with most reported activity. We then tried to debunk the anomaly in the homeowners video. The video they showed us upon arrival was trained on the stairway. The anomaly in the video went from left to right disappearing into the wall/living room. The anomaly appeared to be vaporous and didn’t seem to be a dust particle, pet hair, or smoke. We suspected reflection from the passing vehicles from outside. But after comparing the two bits of footage, reflection was ruled out.
During the investigation at 12:18 Josh and Deanna did document some strange EMF fluctuations. Once in the upstairs landing with the EMF meter stationary on Josh’s knee., where we detected a 1.0 mg. Not a significant spike but what was strange about the spike is that it dropped from 1.0, .09,.08,.07,.06,.05,.04,.03,.02, and to .01. Paranormal activity usually spikes up and then disappears. Whatever the EMF meter detected it seemed to be moving away slowly.
The second EMF fluctuation took place at 01:13 in the Master Bedroom. At the beginning of the investigation, Josh performed an EMF sweep in the room and the highest reading in the entire room was a 1.0 mg. Then at 01:13 we detected 1.2-1.5 it only lasted for a few seconds and then disappeared.
Temperature readings throughout the night were within normal ranges. Temperature readings were constant between 58 and 65 degrees as measured by Digital Thermometer w K CSI6500 probe (CSI6500) (thermocouple reads 2X per second)..

Location: Basement @ 11:25
Description: While setting up a IR camera for the DVR, Josh picked up a strong smell of Peptobismol. Again, this lasted for just a few seconds and then disappeared.
Location: Dining Room @ 11:33
Description: While getting equipment ready, two sets of Rogers batteries for his camera died. Batteries were fresh out of box.
Location: Upstairs Girls Room @ 12:33
Description: Josh witnessed the bed sheet move in the girls bedroom. We then tried to debunk it by walking on the floor next to bed. Nothing happened. No air was coming through the vent on the floor either. The only way that we were able to recreate was to physically touch the bed sheet.
Photographs- A total of 80 pictures were taken with digital cameras. Nothing unusual was noted in any of them.
Video- A total of 11 hours of video footage was reviewed. Video captured orbs which are determined to likely be caused by dust particles or pet fur.
Audio/EVP- EVP work was conducted by investigators in known hot spots in the home. We did capture 4 possible EVPs during our stay. The first one being captured in the Master Bedroom. We do not know what is being said so it is labeled “???”. The second one was captured at the bottom of the stairs. We believe that it is saying “Scared”. The third one being captured in the Upstairs Girls Room. We believe that is is saying “Yes”. Also, like the one before, it was captured in the Upstairs Girls Room. Again, we believe it is saying “Yes”.

Examination of the video and photographic evidence collected during the investigation did not reveal unusual findings however we were not able to explain all of the phenomena reported by the homeowner and thus would not consider this case closed. There remains the possibility that the investigation simply occurred at a time where activity was low. Given that the paranormal does not perform to command.
CKPRS can only conclude that we did not find evidence supporting a haunting. CKPRS would, however, have hoped to be able to provide clearer explanations for the things that the family has witnessed. As a consequence this case remains undetermined and CKPRS would be happy to conduct further investigation should the homeowner desire. CKPRS does not however feel that the health and safety of the family are in jeopardy from any paranormal activity in the home and do not find that the phenomena and experiences the family reports are of a malicious nature.
