Hearne Airport is an ideal towing site for Region 11 hang glider pilots. It is centrally located between the most populous cities at a general aviation airport that has very little air traffic. It is surrounded by many miles of open fields and roads for retrieval. It also happens to have a full time full service hang gliding dealership located there. Austin Air Sports opened up shop there over Labor Day '99 and has been busy ever since. Pictures follow:
