This is a website about an Airsoft
team called A.W.S. (Assault
Weapons Specialists). It is composed of six
Airsoft enthusiasts: Scott,
Tim, Darren, Brian, Chris, and Jon. Airsoft
is a word that describes a sport that is like Paintball, but the team is armed
with replica 1:1 scale automatics, shotguns, and handguns that cannot be
modified to shoot real ammo. It instead shoots tiny 6mm plastic pellets.
The whole purpose of Airsoft is
for either War Simulation or Police Training. Ok, but really it's to
play as a team against another team just like Paintball. But Airsoft
guns are more realistic because the guns look real.
Airsoft is also not
messy because it's ammo doesn't explode
into a mess of paint on contact. It merely just
bounces off the person after hitting him/her. This causes them to
"die" or lose movement on one of their limbs (by rules of the game.
You dont REALLY lose movement of your limbs, you have to fake it) like in real
Combat. Except for the fact that you don't
literally fall into a spasm on the ground, like when you get shot by a real gun.
You just have to walk out of the game (to the beginning of course) when shot.
The BB's cannot kill anyone as it is plastic and cannot pierce the skin unless
it hits the soft spot of the eye. (this is the reason why we
use goggles to protect our vision!). The guns either have a battery
to supply the power of automatic fire,
a cocking handle to
create the pump effect of the shotgun
, or gas to provide the semi-automatic firing or
automatic fire of a
handgun. The automatic electric gun or rifle (AEG)
has a continuous fire of plastic BB's and the shotgun/sniper has the one
cock, one shot deal (the shotgun has 3 simultaneous BB's spreading out when
fired to provide the real steel shotgun blast effect). Airsoft
is currently a huge sport in Japan (the inventors
of the awesome sport and guns) and is slowly crawling out towards the U.S. to
override the obsolete paintball sport and bring the future of gun sporting. Each
member of the team has a purpose and a position in which they try to take out
all the opponents on the other team in order to win. Positions are further
explained in the Glossary Section and the
people who take that position or place are also included in there. This site is
to show people all over the world our awesome team that Scott, Tim, and Darren
created. All of the details of our team are further explained in the
different section of the site. The Links Page
also have sites of Airsoft
containing info, retailing of guns and other great stuff you should know if
you're planning on participating in this movement we call Airsoft.
So go on and explore the site and if you want to leave a comment, there's the Guest
Book to sign. Thanks.
