My name is Joseph Whelan, and the two other people responsible for the engineering and implementation of this site are Oliver Little and Christopher Murphy. We are all HND computing students at Guildford College in Surrey. We are in our first year of a three year course and creating this web site is for one of our units. We are similar ages, myself being 19 and Chris and Oli are both 18.

Where did the idea come from?

Well, as you are probably aware the Internet is a huge source of information for homework, pictures of your favourite celebs and much much more. However you may not be aware that the Internet can also be used for unwanted web sites promoting things that most people do not want to see - and this is where ProtectYourChildren comes into play.

This site offers advice for safe surfing, tips on what to do if you come across these unwanted web sites, and links to trusted web sites where you can surf the internet without worrying about these problems. We have a dedicated email address so that you can mail us with any questions you might have and we will guarantee that you will have a response within 24 hours.

There is also a message board, so you can share your views, comments or anything else you have to say on there for everyone else to look at.

What's in it for us?

Well, not only is this a good chance for us to practice our web design skills, but it is also something that we all feel strongly about. Myself, Oli and Chris have been using the Internet for many years and have learnt many tips and tricks that we will pass onto you.
