Construction of Almalinė
Canésinė alor Almalinė

Cardė rebuilt the world that he had originally created, purifying it of the fell creations of Gacatė, and also adding more animals and creatures. He made many beautiful animals, such as fish, birds, and camels. He also created the butterfly, which he admired for its beauty.

Cardė also wanted to create a race to be above the other beasts, but yet he knew that Gacatė could perhaps return someday. Cardė, being wise and compassionate, decided that if he was to create such a noble creature, he would first have to think of a way to teach them ways to resist Gacatė if he returned.

And so Cardė chose to create seven servants live on the world to teach the ways of warfare, hunting, music, religion, and other such things. Cardė created these servants, the Almalae (as they would later come to be named), and he decided that they should live on Almalinė (as others would later title it).

Cardė created one common tongue for all seven of the Almalae, and he named that language Almalinian, and then he brought forth the seven Almalae, one for each day that Cardė reconstructed the world after Gacatė had abused it.

The Almalae awoke on a grassy, sunny plain on Erbadoln Island, which lies off the northeastern coast of Almalinė and south of Atolnalant, the frozen land of the North. Cardė silently greeted them (because there was no language yet), and the Almalae recognized Cardė at different times as they began to look in awe at the green, tranquil plains and deep blue sky above them.

Cardė then began to appoint each Almalae to different things that they should teach to the high race (when they arrived, that is, since Cardė had still not quite decided what they would be like) and also where the Almalae should dwell.

The first Almalė to be assigned a task was Gālonus. He had the face of a philosopher and a white beard. His duty was to teach mathematics and the sciences to the race that would soon be coming. His home was to be in the area just south of the Morndhalen Mountains.

The next Almalė was Diana. She wore a white robe that fluttered around her body as she stood in the Erbadolnian breeze; her hair was golden and it too waved in the wind; her face was immensely beautiful, and she had mystifying crystal blue eyes. As the Almalinians later discovered, the Almalae could change their appearance at will, but Dianė usually remained in her original appearance of beauty. Cardė gave her control of the arts: literature, writing, music; she also was the Almalė of beauty. Her domain was all lands along the southern and eastern coast of Apaldor Bay, and her domain stretched eastward until it stopped at the end of the Įntequė River Valley.

The third Almalė was Curumo, a strong and powerful-looking warrior with intense dark eyes. He was given control of the ways of warfare and hunting; he also controlled chaos, disorder, and death. Cardė also granted a jet black, armed war horse named Helcarnor to Curumo. The land of Curumo was to be the southwestern tip of the Nenedolth Mountain Range. In fact, the mountain range itself later became named Nenedolth partially because of Curumo. The name "Nenedolth" is based on an earlier word "neneda," meaning cry. Battle cries were often heard on both of the mountain ranges, and so they acquired the name. In addition, a person standing in the middle of the valley could see both parts of the mountain range, which seemed lonely, as if each half missed the other half. And so, the mountains were said to be sad that the other half was missing, and they would cry; and that is another reason why they acquired their name.

The fourth Almalė to be given a task was Nebrina. She was fairly slim, and she had long wavy red hair with an olive branch placed around her head like a crown. Her countenance had a jovial, fun-loving look, and her green eyes seemed excited and expectant. She was given charge of nature, win, and merry-making. Her land was to be the Nalźn Perianaeth and the nearby river tributaries.

The next assignment was given to Aglaen. He was young, had short brown hair, and soft brown eyes. He had a mildly inquisitive countenance. He was dressed in a toga praetexta. Cardė assigned to guide the Almalinians in their religion and history; but, although he was the Almalė of history, Cardė told him only the basics of the encounter with Gacatė--just enough to make a man fear and despise Gacatė. His domain was along the Huivir River.

Then Cardė assigned a mission to Callinė, another female Almalė who had an attractive, young, but very serious, countenance. She was given charge of maintaining peace, trade, and relations between the different people of Almalinė. Her domain was to be all of the Banhemar Islands in Apaldor Bay.

The final Almalė arrived dress in a large grey robe with cloak big enough to completely shadow the face. When Cardė assigned this Almalė a duty, he did not allow the other Almalae to hear what was said. Afterwards, long after Cardė had created his new people, nothing was known of this Almalė by the Almalinian people, and so he remained nameless. --- Carde told this Almalė that he was to remain as unknown as possible within Almalinė, and that he should oversee everything within Almalinė, even the Almalae themselves. He told this seventh Almalė of the entire account concerning Gacatė, and he also told to this Almalė that if Gacatė or any of his powerful servants should ever set foot on Almalinian land, a great, staggering sensation would overcome this seventh Almalė, and that great disaster would probably befall Almalinė shortly thereafter. Cardė said that if that ever happened, then the seventh Almalė must order the other Almalae to return to Erbadoln by the order of Cardė himself, but that nothing more, not even an explanation of why they must return, should be given.

The assignments now completed, Cardė stood back for a moment to take pride in what he had done and to dream of what was soon to come. That done, he gave to each of the Almalae a small stone, approximately the size of an egg, yet round. However, these stones glittered and sparkled in a great and magnificent flurry of colors. At times, a rainbow tapestry would take form, only to scatter into a collage of many colors, or then burst forth a massive light that was as bright as a large bonfire, yet it had brilliant colors. He told the Almalae that if his help were ever in very desperate need, these light stones could be used to summon the aid of Cardė. With that, he admonished them to perform their tasks to the best of their ability, and then he sent them off to Almalinė.

Each Almalinė arrived in his or her domain, and they each began to create a large tower to live in; all except for the seventh Almalė, that is. His arrival into Almalinė has ever been a mystery, and he never constructed a tower.

His labors done for a time, Cardė remained alone in Erbadoln to think about the race that he wanted to create soon, and the Almalae awaited their arrival...
