Proper Manners on the Trading Post

Everyone uses the trading post now and then - when they get a rare item that's too expensive to put in a shop, or when they want to give someone else neopoints. Whatever the reason, it's easier than pricing out single items sometimes.

But there are plenty of rude people, and here are some DO's and DON'Ts for the trading post to make sure you have nice, happy transactions.

I'll start off with the most annoying thing. When you have a trade going and you've been waiting a while for it to be bid on, and all of a sudden someone makes a bid! Oh, Happy Day! You go and look, and it's a bid worth about 1% of what your item's worth. For example: Going to check out what someone bid on my Brown Broadberry (Worth 250,000np) and seeing someone bid a Rotten Berry (worth 1np) on it. I'm almost to the point of making a list of the people who've given me junk bids and publicly posting it on here. Maybe.

Everyone who's posted on the trading post has gotten one, too. Either they think we're stupid, or they are. So that's a major DON'T. Respect your fellow Neopians.

Don't use the TP to advertise your guild. That's not what it's for - there are neoboards and the noticeboard for that. It's just spam and it's rude.

Do take the time to check out other people's lots if you're looking for a certain item. Or even check out the shop wizard to get a general idea of the price. You could even contact the seller as well, see if they're willing to accept a little less - most of the time, they probably will if they're desperate to get rid of the item.

Do put in a wishlist of what you want - people don't know what to give you if you don't say something. NP, items, stamps, paint brushes, codestones, map pieces.. depending on the price of the item, these things could apply.

So just keep these things in mind, and don't be a twit.

You need the right amount of NP to buy something in someone's shop, why should you give them less to buy an item in the trading post?
