A Dictionary of MattRabbitese

The MattRabbiteers have a certain way of speaking that is quite...unique. At first the tendency of using large/strange words can be daunting, such as in the phrase "and now, let us commence the rock," which was once Darren's away message. Note the use of the word "commence" instead of a simpler word like "start." MattRabbit is known for this use of synonyms. When one can use a more interesting or uncommon word in place of a simple word, one does. There are also many words that are only found in MattRabbitese. Some of them are defined here to benefit those who are not familiar with this somewhat strange language.

Bam, Oh- This is a phrase that is used to express joy, excitement, or happines. Example: "Oh bam! I just beat Darren in Texas Hold 'Em!"
Bling- In this case, another word for money. Example: "My Beatles poster cost me 15 bling."
Buttaface- This is a word that is used to describe a girl...it means that everything is attractive about her "but her face." Example: "Cory thinks that that girl is a buttaface."
Captain, The- Jon's father, who happens to be a fire captain. Example: "Captain is going to borrow Jon's hot car for the day."
Dag- (often followed by "yo") A greeting used in many situations. The derivation of the word is a little shady, but it is in widespread use today among MattRabbit and their followers. Example: "Dag yo, I am learning how to play bass."
DJ- Darren's father. He is a dentist and his name is John. Thus, Doctor John. Thus, DJ. Example, "Darren should ask DJ if it is okay before he decides to drive the family car to California."
Flustered- Also found in normal everyday English, but used slighly differently by MattRabbiteers. It means upset, uneasy, or angry. Example: "Darren was really flustered when he found out that Matt didn't bring any goodies from Panera."
Go in for the Kill, To- This phrase means many things. Basically, it describes the moment at which someone decides to go "all in" or to attempt something really outrageous. Example: "there was a jiggling of the handle and then he must have seen us before going in for the kill" (Jon describing someone's recent attempt at guitar theft).
Grubby- Yucky, icky, ugly, gross, bad, or even anything negative-ish. Example: "Emo music is really grubby because all that emo boys do is whine."
Hollah- This word is a greeting, basically meaning "hey." It is derived from the Southernism "holler." Example: "Hollah, Jon!" "Hollah right back at you, Darren!"
Hungee- (Pronounced as "hungry" minus the "r.") Similarly "sicky," "tiredy," or "depressdy," among others. The use of the "y" on the end of negative adjectives is legendary among the MattRabbiteers, especially Cory. It is really annoying to some people but I find it somewhat endearing. Example: "I am really depressdy because I did not get to go to the MattRabbit show."
Joshin'- Joking around. Example: "Don't worry, I was just joshin' before. I love you."
Lizzadies- A spiffied up version of the word "ladies." Example: "I don't care what we do tonight, let's let the lizzadies decide."
Mack- A very versatile word, mack can be used to identify a relationship (Example: "Mandy and Kasey Kahne are macking.") It can also be an action of nearly any sort (Example: "I do not have time to mack tonight because I am going to play Texas Hold Em.") The MattRabbit version of "mack" is very different from the word that has recently taken hold of America's teenage generation, and this is important to remember.
Momo- Darren's mom. I believe that this word came from a young cousin who could not pronounce her real name and instead said "momo." The nickname stuck. Example: "Darren should ask Momo before having 100 girls over tonight."
Pimp- This too is not the literal definition. Rather, it can be used as an adjective to describe something awesome (Example: "that's pretty pimp"- Jon referring to this website) or it can be modified to "pimpin" (Example: "that was a pimpin' roller coaster.")
Po-po- The police. Also "the fuzz" and "the 5-0." Example: "Run! It's the po-po!"
Sho'- Sure. It just sounds cooler. Example: "Are you sho'?" "Oh definitely."
Super Thor, The (In French: Thor Suberbe)- You should ask Ross about this one. The Super Thor is an extremely old amplifier. It belongs to Thor, the God of Thunder. Previously it did not make any buzz whatsoever which was somewhat of a miracle, but in recent days "The evil that is known solely as "The Buzz" is slowly taking over." So says Ross in the MattRabbit guestbook. The Super Thor will always hold a special place in our hearts. Example: "The only One worthy of the greatness of the Super Thor is Ross."
Tap- As in "tap that." Meaning something similar to "mack that," this word is used mostly by men referring to whether or not they would go for a woman. Although sometimes also used by women to describe their feelings toward a certain man. Example: "Yeah I would probably tap that, she's hot."
Trippin'- Not what you think. Here it means to be dreaming, or be mistaken, or to be merely imagining something. Example: Jon: "Tin snips don't bend the metal." Ross: "You must be trippin', of course they do!"
