Some More Information -

Well, its almost the end of summertime here and we are all looking ahead to the school year or whatever each one of us may be doing - But, now that this summer has come and the parties are almost over - What about NEXT summer?  Going anywhere?

Well, As you may have seen on this website there was a proposal to have a missions trip to Uganda for a short while and follow it up by cruising over to RVA for alumni weekend and our 2 yr. reunion.  Some of you were interested and sent me emails - others of you may not have noticed it or have had a change of mind.  Well, if you are interested - Please email me to confirm.  So, if you already emailed me - email me again to say hi and where your thoughts are concerning a missions trip of about 5 weeks.  If you are just now interested - still open - email as well.  There are more details about the trip below.  I will also send you an email with information or whatever if you are interested in this trip.

The trip would be with a group of volunteers in our class - those interested in doing a summer volunteer missions trip before heading over to the 2 yr. Reunion.

We would be volunteers working under Africa Inland Mission for the time that we are in ministry in Uganda.  There would be an official application and all to go with that to receive support.

My parents, Bob and Paula Herrmann, are volunteer coordinators and would organize and arrange the details of our trip and ministry.

So far, tentative dates look like this:  Beginning around May 28 or so we would organize and depart, spend a few days in Kampala taking in the familiar African air, begin ministry on the 4th, we would leave for Kenya on July 3 for Alumni weekend, following alumni weekend we plan to go to Mombasa or split apart to visit parents in Kenya or TZ.  We would return shortly after that - as each individual would need to stay and vacation or return to States for work or school.

Ministry opportunities look like:  A Christian University fellowship in Kampala at Makere University would love to have us work with them to do evangelism on the University campus (so that would just be like evangelism and hanging out and getting to know some other University students in Kampala) or work with them on a High School Outreach program for a few weeks to go around the area and share and teach in High Schools.  There are also opportunities for working with children - Africa has a wealth of needy children as we have seen.  The ministry would be able to be customized to our talents and abilities as well as our time schedule.

Continue to pray about your decision concerning this missions trip - We would love to have you join the group to share Christ's love, experience personal growth, and have an incredible time together as a group back in Africa and visiting RVA and Mombasa.
