SetiRant is the author's Web Page part of his Science 101 "Scientific Research Project". SC101 is a course sponsored by the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
Rant means to use bombastic, extravagant language - or, as the Brits may have it right - to have a rousing good time. The author might have titled this cotton padding The SETI Report, however, that is not his style.
Humour?
Generally, humour explained isn't. "Get it" or don't. For examples, "hover" the rodent pointer over images, links and coloured text. (Thinks ... this may be a tad challenging for some.)
Web Browser Hints
These pages will likely look best when the computer display is set for 800 x 600, 256 colours or better with a full-screen browser window.
Ads ? - what ads ?
Yes, the ad thingy at the top of each page. Please ignore Lycos' commercial consumer ploys and concentrate on the author's hopefully humourous ploys.
Navigation
The Navigation Menu appears on each page. There is no Site Map.
(Thinks ... do nine pages need a map?)
Information Sources
The author used the Encyclopaedia Britannica 2001 Standard Edition CD-ROM for reference. Additional information came from web sites listed in RantLinx.
Thanks
Thank you coordinators Rina Freed, Charly Bank, Jill Gorman, Norman Flynn and the tutors and lecturers of the Summer 2001 UBC SC101 course, for your kind attention given to this self-professed high-maintenance student.
