The History Of The RPG

Back To RPG Main

I have always wanted to make an RPG. I had a Dragonball Z one, but there are so many and mine was confusing for me, so I dropped it. But there are not that many Mega Man RPG's out there. Plus I found a system that I really liked. By system I mean a way to play it. If you guys know of any web sites out there that help people make their own graphical games, please let me know. Now, this is the background history for this RPG. There are a lot of different storylines in the Mega Man RPG's, but mine takes place a long way into the future. There are many different secrets in this game, so be sure to explore everywhere!

0-1 AW

Actually, this is the year 3000 AD. But the AW stands for "After War". After the War of the Humans, the Repliods were the main race on the planet Earth. Almost all the humans were either killed or are in hiding. The Repliods all took over the world. They split into two factions: the good Repliods and "the Remorseless". The Repliods wage war on the Remorseless. Occasionally the humans bomb the Rim, the area where the Reploids live.

1-10 AW

The humans have been attacking more frequently. They seem to have developed a new weapon: the Particle Beam Accelerator. The Mavericks shot down a fighter plane that had one such weapon attached to it. They also found the human's main base of operations using the plane's guidance system. They attacked the humans and got decimated. Only Shadow, the Maverick's leader and Raider escaped. They then went to Beta, the Repliod's leader, for help.

11 AW

Beta and Shadow created an uneasy truce. In exchange for their help, the Maverick's had to leave the Desert and find a new base. Shadow agreed on this and they set the plan into motion...

The Repliods attacked first, leaving the outer defenses wrecked. Shadow moved in and attacked the left flank of the Human force. He then proceeded to climb into the air ducts and infiltrate deep into the Human's base. Once inside, Shadow and Beat met. They pressed the attack deeper into the base, then they split up, leaving the Humans in ruins. Shadow found a room that glowed. Inside was a Ride Armor, piloted by itself. Shadow made short work of it. He then noticed a faint glow behind the Armor. He reached behind. He pulled out a Beam Saber. "Phh. Pretty pathetic thing to guard", he scoffed, throwing the Saber across the room. As it hit the back wall, it came to life! He looked back. This was the legendary Shadow Saber! He quickly attached it to his leg and ran toward the main hall...

Beta had his hands full. He was blasting left and right at the humans. "Damn! Where is he?" Suddenly a Ride Armor came from around the corner. Beta charged up a Buster shot and let fly. The Armor was pushed back and over the main deck of the Hall, crashing into the floor over 300 feet down. Suddenly Beta was hit from behind. Shadow rushed into the room. "I don't need you to win this war! I have this!" He immediatly began chopping into the first enemy he saw. The human had just enough time to cry out before he exploded. Beta faced off against Shadow. "What are you doing?"

"I am putting you out of MY misery! I don't need you!" Shadow swung at Beta again. Beta retreated as best he could. Suddenly he stepped on something. He looked down. It was a Beam Saber! He quickly fired it up and attacked Shadow. They fought for a long time. Then Shadow found himself with his back to the edge of the Main Hall. He looked back. There was the same Ride Armor he saw Beta destroy lying at the bottom. He looked at Beta. "You can't kill me. I won't let you." With that he jumped off of the platform. Beta rushed forward. He watched as Shadow fell through the air. Then he heard the computer anounce something. "All personnal evacuate the base! Repeat: Base will self-destruct in 5 minutes!" Beta rushed towards the exit. He ran into the base's Hangar. He quickly found a Hover Bike and hopped on. He then proceeded out of the base at lightning speed.

Beta looked back at the base. He counted off the seconds. Then he heard it: a gigantic BANG! drifted towards him. He heard it before he saw it. Then his world went white. He wasn't quite far enough away. He was engulfed in the shockwave and the blacked out.

When he woke up again, Beta was being repaired...by a human! he tried to sit up, but he was restrained. "What are you doing, human?" "Relax there, machine. I'm fixin' ya." The human continued to work. "Name's Agion. I know you. You shot me back at the human base. Good thing I got out in time." Beta looked at the human's arms. They were metal! "Oh, these? I have that explosion to thank for these. Had to rig 'em up m'self. I can make almost anything I need now." Agion proceeded to work on Beta.

12- 15 AW

Agion trained Beta the ways of the humans, teaching him weaknesses, traits, weaponry and other essential things. He also told him about the Mavericks. Agion had some time to work on some of the older models. He knew of their weak spots too.

Over the next few years, Agion and Beta built up a factory and began producing Reploids. Mostly Scouts for searching along the borders of the Desert. One day Barkley, a dog-like Reploid, came back with some news. It seemed that Shadow had created a factory too. He was producing Mavericks, but at a much slower rate than Beta and Agion. They decided to pay Shadow a visit.

They struck at midnight. They used the cover of darkness to attack. When they were in position, they attacked. Beta set off the bombs they had planted near the conveyer belt to halt production. Agion attacked several of the newest Mavericks, slaughtering them all. Beta then spotted Shadow escaping into a tunnel. Beta followed quickly. He tackled Shadow and shot him in the arm, his Saber arm. Shadow was now unable to use his Shadow Saber. They traded blows for awhile, until Shadow kicked Beta. Beta fell back and Shadow ran down the tunnel. He activated his self-destruct mechanism on the base. Fire erupted behind Beta. The base had been destroyed. He quickly followed Shadow.

Shadow had a hover sled waiting for him. He turned it on and took off. Beta ran and grabbed onto the sled just as it left the Hangar. He was pulled into the air and across the Desert. Shadow swerved several times to try and hit rocks, hills, anything to shake Beta. Beta let go and fell down, hitting the soft sand rather hard. He looked up just as Shadow's sled crashed into a rock face, invisible in the night. Beta then began the long trek back to base.

16- 20 AW

Beta now had a sizeable army of Reploids. He had not heard from any Mavericks in the past few years. He had, however, fought a few battles against the Humans. Agion seemed willing to fight them. "They left me for dead. No one helped me to get out of the base before it exploded. They can all get a taste of what I felt then." Beta had established a few bases along the Desert's border. His base, Antiga Omega, was at the center. He had all his best men at the different bases. He had C-Bass at Zulu Gale, Omega X at X's Refuge, the restin place of the great Reploid "X", Talien at Prima Nocturne, Dark at Kinston and X-Run and Phoenix at Amiga Delta. These bases wrapped around the whole of the desert, making it impossible to sneak in without being seen. The bases were approximatly 200 km apart but a satellite developed by Beta and Agion made possible the full surveillence of the Desert. Nothing much happened during this time, and life was peaceful.

21-30 AW

The world erupted with warfare. It turns out that the humans had been sending small packs of undertrained men into the Desert to keep the Reploids busy. They had created a new version of the Partical Accelerator. Except this one was attached to a satellite 400 km above the Earth. The first blast was aimed at Prima Nocturne. The base erupted in blue flame and smoke on the radars. Then five minutes later, this distress call came in:

"Mayday....may..da.y..This..is Tal.ien...Humans...have a...new..weap..on...May...." The transmission cut out there. Beta immediatly went to Prima Nocturne. The area surrounding the former base, about a 100 km radius, was a smoking crater of death. Reploid parts were sticking out everywhere. Some were in one piece, but burned beyond recognition. Beta was horrified. Suddenly he heard a soft moan. He rushed over to it. It was Talien. "B..Beta. I knew you would come." Beta helped Talien up. "What happened?" "We read the scanners. They showed a large human force moving towards us. We switched every scanner to Land Mode, just searching the ground. We never even thought about an orbital attack." Talien was getting stronger by the minute, Beta noticed. His Healing System must be in overdrive. "What happened next?" "We noticed the sky was getting darker. It went to black, then faded to a blueish-black. Then we heard it. A great crackling that filled the air. We switched two scanners back to Orbital and Air Modes. It was moving at 8 km a minute. Very slow, they must have launched it several hours ago." Talien sat up. "It hit us directly on top. The humans stopped about 110 km outside of the blast radius. We had now idea what they were doing until we had the blast right on top of us. I managed to get down to the 16B Level, but the blast still reached that far below. I estimated about 500 feet. After that I don't know what happened."

Beta organized this new information. "We saw the explosion on the radar. The shockwave reached as far as Antiga Omega. Then we lost power for a second. Then when it came online again, we saw nothing." Beta pulled Talien up and they both made their way back to Antiga Omega.

Gunfire flashed as they reached Antiga Omega. The humans had a well placed plan indeed. They had several units of Ride Armors attacking the right flank of the base. Beta flashed his Beam Saber and rushed into the middle of the fighting. He cut down several enemies before he spotted him. Shadow! He was behind this. Only he could have helped to create a satellite with power of that mangnitude. He quickly dispatched several enemies around him before attacking Shadow. He looks different somehow, Beta thought. Shaodw had not even noticed Beta yet. He was too busy directing some Ride Armors. Beta took the oppertunity and attacked Shadow. He scored a minor hit to Shadow's Speed Core. Shadow didn't slow down though. In fact he sped up. His Shadow Saber flashed in the sun's light. He brought it down with so much power that it stuck in the ground, right up to the hilt. Shadow pulled it out of the ground. He whirled around looking for Beta. He had disappeared. Suddenly a human hit the ground. Shadow looked up. Beta was inside a Ride Armor! He quickly brought the Ride Armor's spiked fist down on Shadow. Shadow was lost underneith it. Beta hammered again and again at the ground where Shadow was. Each time he heard faint crunching sounds. "DIE BASTARD!!" screamed Beta. He jumped out of the Ride Armor and ran towards the base.

Beta ran inside the base's gates. He headed directly for his chambers. Once there, he locked and barricaded the door. He looked franticly around the room. It had not yet recieved any unwanted guests. All the counter-measures were in place. No one had entered his room. He pushed his Containment Chamber out of the way and opened his secret chamber. He jumped down the access chute, not wasting any time by using the ladder. He grabbed the ladder at the last second to avoid damage to himself. Beta opened up the capsule in the room. He had discovered this long ago and decided to build his base over it. He hopped inside and activated the machine. Instantly the ancient artifact came to life. It sprayed Beta with golden energy, turning his hair yellow and his armor gold. His whole body flexed as energy seeped into him. He then proceeded back out to the battle field.

Beta jumped off of the terrace into the middle of the battle. His whole body shone in the Sun's light. He took on a whole unit of Ride Armors, each with its own unit of heavily armed human escorts. Beta went through them as though they were nothing. Before their dying and broken bodies had hit the ground, he was upon another unit. He went through unit after unit, until all the Human forces were concentrating on him. He was too fast though. He destroyed every single unit that the Humans had that day. When he finally realized that there were no more humans to sfight, he stopped and looked around. Close to 100,000 bodies lay on the ground. The Ride Armors that were not destroyed were abandoned. Beta fell onto the Desert ground. "Anyone! Is anyone else left?!" Beta's golden armor had left him, and with it went all his power. He was tired and depleted of energy. He heard a slight shuffling to his right. He turned his head to see what it was. Agion pulled a Reploid's body over to Beta. "Here, lad. You'll need the energy." He hooked up some cables to Beta's Energy Core and flipped a switch on a control panel he had. Beta instantly felt power surging into him. He then had Agion help him walk to his containment chamber.

Beta woke up from his long sleep. He looked at the elapsed time. 9 YEARS??!! Had he slept that long? He walked out of the room. The base was in perfect condition. He proceeded down the corridor to the Main Hall. There were Reploids everywhere. He estimated at least 100. He walked into the middle of the crowd. Cheers went up, as all the Reploids in the room cried with joy at the site of their leader. Beta walked over to one Reploid. "Where is Agion?" The Reploid looked down at his feet. "Agion died several years ago. Actually, just 4 months after you went into your Containment Chamber. He had just enough time to build a computer that would build us Reploids. After 100 of us were built, the computer shut down. It implanted the technology to build other Reploids within us. Agion died because of impurities in his metal arms. He contracted a rare type of lead poisoning." Beta thanked the Reploid for his information and walked away. Where is Talien?" Beta searched around some more. Finally, he spotted Talien in the Hangar. He rushed over. Talien heard him coming and turned to greet him. Talien also filled him in on what had happened during his sleep.

The Humans had tried another attack but failed. Talien had been sent up into space to take over the satelitte with the Particle Accelerator on it. He fought for three days, and then finally controlled the satellite. He aimed at the human's base and fired at it. The base exploded in blue flame and smoke. Talien then crashed the satelitte into the remains of the human base after escaping in a pod. The nuclear explosion would have wiped out any survivors. The Reploids then went about collecting the pieces of Ride Armors and Mavericks that were in Shadow's first assault. The ypieced together enough pieces to make a new technology: Advanced Robotic Technomagic. Talien explained that this is put into special Reploids, like Beta and his most loyal and great Reploids. It allowed them to regenerate lost energy by pulling it out of the air and transforming it into energy that they could use.

The humans also had several new weapons in their arsenal. Some sort of weapon that shot invisible rounds called a "Ghost Rifle". It was very powerful. Talien had every Reploid equipped with this. He also had a statue built for Agion. Talien also had every Reploid equipped with a Teleporter. This way they can beam directly to base instead of walking or riding Hover Bikes. He said that this was top secret, only the Reploids knew about this technology. Talien also showed Beta the map that he had constructed with the information gathered. It showed the entire world. Most of the humans were in one corner of the world, the capital of Asia, now called Deringer. The Mavericks, or what was left of them, were stationed in several small bases that could be taken out using the new weapons that the humans had. The estimated number of Mavericks left was around 50.

31- 35 AW

The Reploids were at peace. The humans no longer tried to fight them, as they were too powerful for them. The small Maverick camps were wiped out, but abour 10 still remain. Shadow was sited again, but escaped before he could be captured. The Reploid's numbers are now around 500 and they have spread out into the Desert and land surrounding the Desert. They now have abandoned the use of several bases and moved Antiga Omega into the mountains surrounding the Desert. The base is now almost impenetrable. Only 3 people have ever snuck in unnoticed, and they were all Reploids during training sessions. The Reploids continue to scan for Maverick and Human forces, but so far nothing has happened. The Reploids also sent a satelitte up into space containing several nuclear devices and some Reploid staff who are replaced every six months. The peace will not last, as nothing lasts forever.
