These photographs were all taken on a 10 day Field Herpetology Course (organised by Wildlife Conservation Society) that I went one just before Christmas (while Duncan went to Cambodia with his sister). The course was in Kaeng Kachan National Park (about a 3 hour drive South of Bangkok), which is on the Thai/Myanmar border (at one point I was only about 16km from Myanmar (Burma). During this trip we (me, the instructors and approx. 35 "students" from Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos) caught 66 species of reptile/amphibian and saw many more interesting animals, these photographs are some of the most interesting.

The bungalow that I stayed in for half of the field course |
This is the inside of the bungalow and my room. |
This is the park resteraunt. |
This is the view from the park resteraunt, you can see the pond and the reservior |
Malayan Snail-eating Turtles (Malayemys subtrijuga); I found this pretty little Terrapin on the road just at the side of the reservoir (near the resteraunt) |
This close up shows the amazing markings of this species of terrapin |
 Here is a terrapin's eye view |
The underside of the terrapin, from the photograph you can also get an idea of its size. |
A cute little squirrel seen near the resteraunt |
Greater Racket-tailed Drongo (Dicrurus paradiseus); this interesting bird was seen near the park resteraunt and HQ. |
We found this bird while out surveying near the park HQ at night, it is fast asleep on the branch and you could walk right up to it (and fire a camera flash right at it) |
