BEAM, Loosely translated it stands for Biology, Electronics, Aesthetics and Mechanics. Beam robots are usually very simple in design, as they remove the standard CPU found on most robot units and employs other components. In short the digital approach made from using computer components is changed to an analouge approach using components such as transistors. Beam robotics is said to be the most likely pathway to creating Artificial Intelligence, and more complicated designs use circuits called 'Neuro Nets' to get near to this goal.
