Flatwater Races for kayaks and canoes in Victoria are run in accordance with the Flatwater Racing Competition Rules as adopted by the International Canoeing Federation and regulations as laid down by Australian Canoeing.
Information and advice here with regards rules and/or regulations are subordinate to these regulations.
Regatta Rules are available from Canoe Victoria for $10 including P&H.
All paddlers intending to compete in Victorian Regattas must be financial members of CV or another ACI or ICF affiliated association
Constituted Classes--3 entries & 2 boats at the start constitute a class. Two Races may be run together.
Club Colors--official club colors must be worn at all events--disqualification may result for non compliance.
Only ITC scholarship holders may wear Vic Team uniforms, state and national zute suits are not permitted.
Officials Tent--officials and club delegates only are allowed in the secretarial/official tent at the finish line.
Lake/Course Closure-- during regattas, the buoyed course is closed to all except those competing. Paddlers are required to keep clear of the finish line and not interfere with the view of finish line judges. Practicing on or adjacent to the course during the regatta is not permitted.
