Title: Dueling over... a large twig.
Time: Monday, April 12, 2004
The Thespians: Gino Cieli and Pascal Curio
Location: Scattergood Grounds - Cultivated Path and Allis Memorial Center - Entrance Hall
+---[ Scattergood Grounds - Cultivated Path ]--------------------------------+

This path is compiled of a dark red shale that dyes shoes and clothes
alike. Both edges are dressed with tall green grass. The length of the
grass would normally indicate that the path isn't well kept, but the
absence of weeds and dandelions is proof that indeed someone does take
care of it. White daisies grow along the sides of the path in large
clumps, creating a pleasant aroma to all who walk through. Just off the
path on the right side, a large evergreen guards the shale, emitting a
cool shadow on the shale. A double story building rises up slightly off
the trail with white stone steps and brass lettering across its top: the
Allis Memorial Center.

+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Looking even glummer than usual and as if something's missing from himself, Gino Cieli stares at the ground of the Cultivated Path, picking up small rocks and stones, then chucking them at the younger students who walk by him. A couple of them have started at trying to say something to the boy, but he just pulls out his wand when they do and gives them an evil stare before going back to his depression. "Accio Cocinella," he whispers hopelessly. If only he knew how to pull off the enchantment, he might be able to get his pet back.
Coming out of the Allis Memorial Center, after having spent yet another night studying for her own purposes in the library, Pascal Curio stops at the top of the white stone steps, shielding her eyes as they squint due to the light. She frowns rather visibly, her brow furrowing while she snakes her other arm through the sling of her pack. A student brushes by her rather abruptly, having been hit smack in the nose by a rock, and her eyes trail to where that student came from. Gino's evil stare is noted, and she slowly walks down the steps, heading past him, unless he should throw a rock at her as well.
"Wingardium Leviosa," Gino Cieli casts on a nearby branch. Well, not exactly a branch, more like a large twig. In any case, he controls the stick to float in the air. Noticing another victim walking by, he quickly flips his wand out of his hand, releasing the branch from its magical hold. He doesn't even watch to see if it will hit its target: Pascal Curio.
Unfortunately, Pascal didn't hear Gino cast his little spell upon the twig. However, there is a good reason why the call the 6th graders nasty tattletales, because several gasps from a passing group of the little brats draw Pascal's attention to the twig that's falling onto her head. She reaches up to bat it aside, and ends up catching it instead. A rather dark smirk curves over her face, and she turns towards Gino. "Hey," she barks. "What the hell's your problem?"
Gino Cieli offers the fellow tenth grader a darkly blank stare in response and nothing more. .oO(Just pull out your wand and we'll see who comes out on top,)Oo. he thinks to himself. Losing his best friend to a little punk who thinks he's a superhero has turned Gino extremely bitter as of late. As if he wasn't extremely bitter before. Let's just say his sourness is strong enough to pinch someone's face in enough so that their eyes touch their lips.
Just try it, Gino. You're talking to a girl who hexes because she's bored. Pascal cocks her head to the side and continues to smirk at Gino, her eyes narrowed. "You got a hearing problem, buddy? I asked you what your /fucking/ problem was." Her voice has grown strangely silky and smooth, though with the expression on her face, she's far from it. Pascal's got the same thought in her own mind though, and she jams her hands in her pockets in an outwardly defensive sort of move.
Gino Cieli twirls his wand in his hands quickly as he laughs evilly to show her that he knows how to handle a wand. He answers her now, in a rather mocking tone, "You wouldn't know anything about it. Or how to catch someone by surprise. Reaching for your wand and pulling it out should happen in one swift motion, girl. Now you have me certain that you plan on pulling out your wand. But who would expect a talentless -girl- to know the first thing about dueling?"
If Pascal is surprised, she doesn't show it. She removes her hands from her pockets and so far, she's got nothing held in her hands. She carefully watches Gino twirl his wand in his fingers and as she shakes her hands out, she's got her own wand in her left hand. "Don't flatter yourself, smart ass. Mummy and Daddy may have spoiled /you/ rotten, but you'll get none of that shit here. No one cares." She takes a step back and holds her wand out, perfectly ready to duel in the middle of the day.
Gino Cieli is met with a little surprise by the fact that Pascal knew he came from a rich family. "So you know who I am, then?" he asks still sitting down on the ground. "Well, I guess that means you know that I have a rather unique pet. But do you know what kind of animal I like better than ladybugs?"
"No, actually. I don't know who you are. I don't make it a habit to know people like /you/," Pascal says rather coolly, still not moving from her stance. She doesn't even bother trying to hide the venom in her voice. Her mind is racing for appropriate charms, hexes, anything to cast on Gino, but she continues to talk while she thinks. Her emerald eyes narrow and she can't help but roll them. "Only snot-nosed brats spoiled by Mummy behave like /you/ do." She doesn't even bother acknowledging his last question. He'll probably answer it anyway.
"Oh, so you don't like guessing games," Gino Cieli sarcastically whines, "Well I guess, I'll show you, then. Avis!" And with a flick of his wand an entire flock of birds come flying out of his wand and continue fluttering about the area for a bit. Gino tries to take the time of the diversion to flee from the area. He quickly heads for the door to the AMC and swings it wide open before...
The flock of birds came as a rather interesting surprise. Pascal waves her arms in the air to rid her own personal space of the feathers and birds. Her eyes take in the scene very carefully and it appears that something's out of place. Gino's gone. Again her eyes narrow and with a rather sour scowl upon her face she mutters something not very nice under her breath. Still, she can't help but smirk. "Run all you like." The door of the AMC closes, and she takes slow strides towards the door, still brandishing her wand. "Contego vos." And then she steps through the door, slipping through the small opening as she opens it slightly.
