A scene which was filmed appeared in the official trailer of the movie. It involved Ellie grabbing a leaf while in the Tour Jeep. We later see her show the leaf to Grant just before the Brachiosaurus encounter scene.

Stan Winston and his crew spent a year making different versions of a baby Triceratops. Lex was supposed to ride this in the movie but Speilberg scrapped the scene just weeks before filming began.

There was two alternative ending to this movie before John Williams and other crew members decided that the T-Rex was the star of the movie. One included a raptor getting crushed in the dinosaur bones. The other was that Hammond shot the Raptors before attacking the group.

The theatrical version of JP featured a scene where the T-Rex smashes through the visitor centre wall. Maybe there were some CGI glitches, no rewind button in the theatre!
