The Big N rules the video game world. Always has, always will. They brought
the industry out from the Niche market it was in the 80s and earlier, and drove
the transformation into the giant that now rivals the movie
industry, and it's with genius like Miyamoto-san at the helm that they keep the
industry from growing stale and dying away. I will admit that perhaps Nintendo
could not have done this on its own, obviously competition drives any entity to
be the best that it can be, but the way I see it, Sony and Microsoft have no
place in Nintendo's space. Nintendo creates video games because they are a game
company, there to make people's lives more fun. Sony and Microsoft are financial
giants who saw what companies like Nintendo and Sega were doing, and how much
money they were making, and they decided that profit should belong to them. It
disgusts me that they are getting away with it, and that they've destroyed one
of the key players in the birth of the industry. (Although I do like that Mario
has obtained a new pet in the bargain)
