| The wizard glanced away from the experiment he was working on - over to where his little assistant Pet was working. She was shaping-up nicely. It had only been a short time since he had found her but be could see many improvements already. She was coming around to his way of thinking and was always planning little surprises to please him. She was so cute to watch. Every so often, she would blow away the feathers from the necklace he had given her; they were obvioulsy tickling her nose. He chuckled inwardly and considered replacing it with another one- if she earned it. |
| Today Pet felt really happy. She had a warm glow within her. She sneakily looked over at the wizard and saw him busy at his work. He was such a warm-hearted person and very kind and understanding towards her. Yes - she was content in his world. Right my girl, she thought - on with the 'orrible AV spell. She would make it work today. She started singing this chant she had made up and into the cauldron she threw - leg of frog, eye of newt, wriggly worm and corn dolly. |
| "Pet" the wizard shrieked. "Corn Dolly - nooooooooo - corn on the cob it should be" "What have you done my girl?" "Oopps" Pet muttered, thinking - Oh Lord- I have messed-up again!!! Within seconds this bemused figure arrived in a poof of smoke. The wizard and his pet were horrified but Elvira, the wicked witch of East Wanton was so amused. "Well my dear Henry" she scoffed. "It has been 600 years since I have been allowed into your castle and I see little change" she said as she looked around. Having had time to reflect on the events the wizard spoke. "Yes Elvira, it has been a long time since we had the dispute over building the wall between our two lands". |
| The wizard continued. "Time now I think to put old disputes in the past. You are welcome in my home". "Pet" he said. "Kindly make Elvira some tea and let us show her some hospitality". "Yes, Sir" Pet replied. Elvira took the tea from his assistant and commented. "So you are Henry's new protege - well I wish you well with your training. However, after the spell you have just performed - I think I will decline the offer of your'e biscuits." After a short while - Elvira left in a poof of smoke leaving the wizard and his pet alone. He walked over to her and hugged her to him tightly, feeling the feathers around her neck. "Well my dear" he said. "Unwittingly, you have performed quite a feat today but I think I will need to watch you a little closer when you are cooking!!" |
