The wizard awoke from his slumber on this fine spring morning in May.  He had a sense of foreboding but could not identify the cause of his concern.  He looked out from the turret window and
could see a dark cloud lying low over West Wanton forest.
Something bad was afoot.  Pulling on his long beard he wandered what to do.  He walked to the table that held his crystal ball and gazed within.
He smiled as he looked in the globe.  There was his Pet gathering mushrooms for his breakfast..  Well at least he hoped they were mushrooms and not the usual mix of toadstools as well.  He felt a warmthness inside his heart as
he looked at this scene, then his heart skipped a beat.  Was she talking to someone?  Was someone there?  He couldn't see anyone.  Maybe she was singing.  But there was a strange look upon her face.  He went over to the bookcase and picked up his conch-shell and raised it to his ear.
He heard his little one say.  "No, my Master does not need any gold.  He can make his own.  Please take away your spinning wheel  and leave me be".  Quick as a flash
the wizard slapped his left hand against his thigh.  Within seconds Pet arrived, transported through the air and landed at his feet.   "Oh Master" she protested.  "Can't you get a carpet for this old castle , my butt is quite sore now" she proclaimed.  He looked at her with relief and retorted  "You are lucky my girl that I didn't land you in a bed of nettles - your sweet little butt would have been smarting for a whole week then".
He pondered the whole event then said.  "I think maybe I should shorten this strap.  Rumplestiltskin was wearing an
invisible sheild and I could not see him.  However, you are
safe now   and he will soon fall into one of the pits that I am about to open.  He will trouble no-one, ever again.  Come my Pet - let us look inside the basket and see if there is anything edible for breakfast"  he concluded, hugging her towards him.
