I have a ton of pictures of the Mad Bomber Society show from Friday, but I got some even better pictures of them the following night at Suburbs.

You're just going to have to wait for them; all I have prepared are more FunDrive photos.

Coming soon: dinner party at Jebus' (as long as I can skip out on my sister's birthday dinner).

  • 29 September 2001
I finally got a chance to upload all my photos. So far it's been like three hours of download time, and I still have to format them.

For now though, you're gonna have to put up with pictures from last Tuesday night, featuring Powerman singing karaoke and Adam and Aaron strutting down the Ave.

  • 28 September 2001
No new photos today; not until I upload like a hundred photos I got stored in my camera from the FunDrive and, after tonight, the Mad BS show.

It's Annan's birthday, so I'll repost my old Annan photos.

  • 27 September 2001
I don't normally say this, but how about that weather? This has got to be the most arid fall I think we've ever had.

Hey everybody! Let's have a Mike Nickel party!!! Drinks supplied, but BYOH (Bring Your Own Hoes). Wanna see some lovely photos of what Mike Nickel looked like back when he was a lowly corrupt SU politician?

Mad Bomber Society is playing with the Drastics, the Kasuals, and the Transylvanians at the Old Strathcona Legion on Friday. Also, it's Annan's birthday. Read my Drastics preview here.
And since I forgot to post this earlier, here's my Puentes Brothers preview.
And finally, a message from God.

Have you noticed that banner that sometimes appears on this page that states: "Take home millions of guys tonight...without getting a reputation" and they have a photo of a woman showing cleavage? Is that trying to sell to women or men? I'm trying to capture an image of it, but it's an animated GIF and I don't know what I'm doing.

Today's photos are some Eli and Greg pictures I took leading up to Greg's Spruce Avenue Hall party.

In international news: I got an e-mail from Yang, who's living in China right now. He says the Chinese government has been negotiating with the American government to provide support for its actions IN EXCHANGE FOR "the US decreas[ing] its support for Taiwan, Tibetan independence and Falun Gong etc etc."

I went to Grab-a-Bite tonight with Adam, Jebus, Deanna, and Powerman. Powerman kept up his usual restaurant voice, shouting in a booming voice about clitoral piercings and watching some girl masturbate. Then we went to karaoke at Seoul Topia, a new Korean karaoke bar next to the Princess Theatre. Expect photos soon, as well as photos of the FunDrive. And damn you Cherie, why did you donate $204 to Adam's show, and nothing to my show?

  • 24 September 2001
Hey y'all, remember this fuzzy critter? That's right, your favourite gay lap dog is back in action, and this time he's putting the moves on your friend and mine, James Elford.

If y'all are wondering, I raised $830 on my show today for the FunDrive. Thanks go out to Greg, Elly, and my mom. Also, the Folk Fest donated $500 during my shift, but not directly to my show. And some crazy woman called in and asked if a song I was playing by the Detroit Emeralds was on CD or record; she was rude to the volunteer and didn't donate any money. And it was a record. Some other woman donated $60, but her stipulation was that I throw in my Manu Chao CD. Which means I'm down one Manu Chao CD.

  • 23 September 2001
All right, here are the photos of Greg's party. See Ass, Spilt Milk, Leith's stomach, Kate's pierced ear, and Greg trying to DJ.
  • 22 September 2001
I'm working on something on the Drastics for See Magazine. Here are some photos of Jeff Papineau that probably won't see the light of print.

The Drastics once were known as the Brewtals, but now they're back, minus one Tabernacle, Ted. They're playing their first gig as the Drastics on Annan's birthday, which is this Friday, with Mad Bomber Society and the Kasuals, which are les Tabernacles minus Rob.

    Tonight: Ass!

  • 21 September 2001
I missed a couple days, but it was well worth the wait. I'm glad I bought this 64MB card; I just uploaded a week's worth of photos. Here's the most recent gallery, which is also the most timely: CJSR FunDrive photos.

The next few galleries will contain more photos of people from around CJSR, including Jeff from Teenage Invasion and the sinister Minister Faust. Oh golly!

  • 19 September 2001
Apparently Mike Nickel has been throwing around my Bill Smith article at mayoral debates, so I've been doing research today on Nickel's background. He used to be the archetypal frat-boy SU president in the '80s. I think I've got some solid facts about when he was responsible for hiring a stripper with SU funds, although I'm having a little trouble finding information about when he gambled SU money on the stock market and lost.

I looked in my old 8K flash card, and there was an eclectic assortment of photos I should have posted in previous galleries.

I got another e-mail from Nels today, although he was more speaking to the CIA agents he suspected were monitoring his e-mail. He confirmed that the CIA is investigating at his college, although he said they didn't find jack shit. Also, apparently they're tearing down the Pentagon.

  • 18 September 2001
I should have put these up yesterday, but I guess I've been savouring the fact that Cherie finally let me take photos of her.

There's a candlelight vigil at City Hall tonight at 7, so expect to see a gallery of photos from that soon. Also, Ass is playing at a private party on Saturday, and I think I can get the guy putting it on to let me in.

  • 16 September 2001
I got an e-mail from Nels today. I miss the bastard so much, I'm going to post a copy of his rant here.

Werd...so like on tuesday we had this whole thing that went on. Well, be it that I follow the news and shit and am rather astute, I wasn't completely surprised. This whole fiasco is over-hyped because most people don't understand what's going on. Like what sort of motive do these terrorists have? The general concensus is that they are against something intrinsic about the United States, but such is not the case. The rhetoric you hear about this being an attack on democracy is bullshit. I remember tuesday morning, I think it was Tom Brokaw saying "Your nation is under attack..." but it was an open statement and over a visual of the american flag it was challenging you to do something. Like sign up for the military? What the fuck? We have an oversized army as it is. So we can hypothetically fight two major wars at once and still defend ourselves. That sort of apocalyptic battle is stems from a different era, which, ironically in our attempt to prevent it has only made it more plausible.
Now the attitude is that anyone not on our side is pro-terrorist. This is the same thing that fucked up the Third-World during the Cold War. If a nation wasn't explicitly with us in fighting communism, they were implicitly anti-democracy and so we had to undermine their governments until they cried 'uncle'.

Well, the world isn't going to get much better. When people were glued to the television there were no dissenting opinions or intellectual debate on the matter. Now that people have gotten back to their quotidian lives, important questions are being brought up but there's no audience.

I've come to realize that our leaders are as ignorant as everyone else and the future doesn't look very good either. In one of my seminar classes I heard some of the stupidest shit ever and everyone in the class was an International Affairs major. They hadn't a fucking clue about the rest of the world and what was worse was that they weren't aware of their ignorance.

Anyways, give James my address 'cause I want to get the Gateway. That's what's down in the hood. Oh yeah, I got in a fight with gravity last night, it won by a lot. I went to the hospital this morning to get my jaw x-rayed, looks fine but it's still sore. And even though the I lost, I left the sidewalk a bloody reminder of our little altercation. Trip me will you? Ha!

Excuse me, Waiter...could you please take this soup back, it's evil.

The release of the trailer for the Spider-Man movie has been delayed, an Arnold Schwartzenegger movie release date has been delayed, several violent computer games' releases have been delayed, and these graveyard photos have been delayed. None of these are mine, but I'm posting this link of photos of people from around the world mourning after the incident on Tuesday. This is an amazing collection. There's one cool photo of a punk with a blue mohawk from Germany somewhere near the top.
  • 14 September 2001
I got an extra break off work to have a moment of silence at 10:20 today. The break was barely long enough for me to also edit my page. I don't have anything to say about the disaster; go to Phancy.com for a comprehensive list of photos.

Today I'll post a gallery of people in HUB. This page will grow.

  • 13 September 2001
Cherie went to the Edmonton Art Gallery with Elly yesterday, who was doing an assignment for the Gateway, and she let him take her photo. She never lets me take her picture! In retaliation, I post this ear picture.

Did you read See yet today? I have a photo feature in there about Bill Smith's SUV. I tracked him all over town for about two months, taking photos whenever he parked illegally. He must break some law about 80 per cent of the time. Anyway, go here to see a more lengthy look at the work I did in stalking the mayor, complete with full commentary about each case, and little stories about problems I encountered.

The Skinny are playing tonight. Read all about it.

  • 12 September 2001
All I have today are photos of Nic Cornell.

Also, Nels' mom gave us a call from New York to say they're all okay. Nels was at university in Pennsylvania, and they cancelled classes for the day, because apparently the CIA was investigating there for some reason. Mrs. Erickson said she saw the World Trade Center fall from the hospital where she works.

  • 11 September 2001
It's 1:45am, technically still the tenth, but I don't care; I'm at a computer. Today's posting is from a trip to a German restaurant with my family and some family friends. Annan wanted me to take her photo for some design project, so I did that after.

I just typed in my first short story for my WRITE 495 class. I won't post it yet, but you can look at this picture, which is sort of what the story's about.

  • 10 September 2001
So I missed a few days; so what? I've been uploading the next week's galleries. To start with, check out this stupid sign I found:

Take a look in Cherie's fridge.

And some fanmail from my sister:

What is the address for jon's website?
    [Annan]

    It's right here, idiot.

  • 5 September 2001
All I've got for you today are photos of that protest at City Hall to stop the rave bylaw.

Today's the first day of classes, and I'm just figuring out my timetable and cancelling all my shifts at work.

  • 4 September 2001
Time for some more fan mail. Of course, all the fan mail I ever get is either from Cherie or Powerman.

The University server just erased the first three days of September, by not loading the last bit of my page when I saved it. Thus, I've lost the bottom three entries of this month. I'll repost the three galleries I think I lost. Click on the logo.

    My dad's birthday

All the rest of it was just whining about returning Vianne's computer. I think there may be a saved copy of it at home.

  • 1 September 2001
Bad news: Vianne finally took back her computer. I'm at CJSR right now, putting together this revised layout. If you didn't know, I borrowed her computer from her when she went home for the summer; I figured she wouldn't need it sitting around in her apartment collecting dust. I also borrowed her stereo, and a bag of cookies that would have been hard as rocks by the time she got back. Not like she needed it, right? Anyway, I wasn't expecting her to break up with me, so when she came back, things were a little different and she wasn't in such a lending spirit.-->

On the bright side, when I logged in on the CJSR computer, it automatically took me to Cherie's directory, so I had a little fun with her website.

Thanks to Zannah for letting me use some of the code from her site, /usr/bin/girl.
