13/04/2002 - Netting! Other pools are netted, and the fish are distributed between Damsel and Dragon Pools. More fish for everyone!
24/04/2002 - 24lb of mixed fish were caught off Damsel Pool today by local rod Perry follows.
2/05/2002 - Dragon Pool opened today. The first angler on this pool, Nick Johnson of Rugeley, has caught four mirror carp in under two hours. The first weighed 6lb, the second 11lb, the third 7.5lb and the fourth 8lb. All fish were caught on the popped up biscuit.
18/06/2002 - Dragon Pool fished well to popped up baits. The pool record was broken with a 21lb 6oz mirror, but as it was not witnessed the old record of 19lb 6oz, by Edward Carney, still stands. Damsel Pool is at present un-fishable, due to excessive weed growth.
14/07/2002 - Dave Dyas of Rugeley smashed his personal best with a 17lb 4oz mirror off Dragon Pool . The fish fell to floating bread.
17/07/2002 - Charlie Hine catches an 11lb common off Damsel Pool on pole-fished bread.
20/07/2002 - Damsel Pool is now cleared of weed. After chemicals failed Chris Carney and friends, it was cleared by hand, taking all week.
21/07/2002 - Clive Nixon from Rugeley catches over 30lb of carp and tench off Damsel Pool . All fish fell to pole-fished corn.
Lea Hall a.c. open contest fished Sunday 20th October 2002
1st place - Kevin Wood (Lea Hall) : 33lb 1oz (venue record) *All fish fell to chopped worm on pole*
2nd place - Chic Richards (Rugeley) : 22lb 1oz (including a common carp of 11lb 1oz, caught on corn)
3rd Place - Digger Bailey (Chase) : 14lb 6oz
The venue fished better than expected after the first frosts of the year, cold winds and rain.
Unfortunately there will be no more matches on the pool until the spring. Watch this space for match dates and reports as and when they happen.
