Knights of the Jedi
Who are we?
The members in the forums and
of this group are part of a group of people who place their beliefs
in the philosophy, combat skills and of course the religious side
of the Jedi. Despite being fictional, the philosophies are real
and the Force can exist as one of many forms in religious beliefs.
What is our purpose?
The purpose behind the Knights
of the Jedi is be able to unite those of the same beliefs together.
The philosophy is how we see things as they are, the combat is how
we can protect ourselves and others when it is in need and the religious
belief of the Force is something that all can share willingly without
criticism or insults. The Knights of the Jedi respect all beliefs
and do not blame anyone for believing anything different from our
own. The main goal of our group is to maintain peace within both
ourselves and others around us. Respect for all life is needed when
learning to walk the path of the Jedi.
What is the combat training?
There will be times in anyone's
life where a conflict is made or is due to be made. The Knights
of the Jedi teach swordsmanship known in the form of lightsaber
combat. Since lightsabers do not exist it is best to practice with
anything effective but safe to practice with. A Jedi is not focused
purely on combat however. Even the Jedi Guardians, who focused mainly
on combat, were often diplomats in situations as well. Being a Jedi
is not about fighting and winning a battle. The focus behind the
swordsmanship offered by the Knights of the Jedi is not to win a
fight, but to learn to control yourself physically, mentally and
spiritually and thus also know when not to use your weapon. The
teachings is only to be used to allow one to defend himself or someone
that is in need of help. We, however, do not encourage the swordsmanship
to be used frequently or at all unless it is of utmost importance.
How do I join the Knights
of the Jedi?
To join you must first write
a request in either the guestbook on this webpage or make a request
in the forum in the joining topic. You will then be contacted by
either Grand Master Nillanthir Zerati or a master/knight of the
order. The one who contacts you will offer a series of questions
and do something like an interview. To be a Jedi in this academy
requires commitment. Someone who wishes to join the site for bragging
rights or 'for the sake of it' will be denied access to the forum.
May the Force be with you and if you want to join, request in either
the guestbook or in the forums Joining topic with your name/jedi
name, e mail address, why you wish to join and the Jedi code (Either
version will be fine).
