I’ve often lamented to myself how there is a complete lack of worthy figures to glorify and admire in our pitiful modern age. Nobody stands for anything great anymore, and achievement has just become something you can turn into cash by selling out to endorse Coke or Pepsi Cola. Billions of dollars are spent every year on meticulously constructed ad campaigns designed to manipulate, brain-wash, and deceive the average consumer. In the end, the question arises: who do you trust? Unfortunately the answer is uninspiring: trust nobody.
There was a time when you could trust religion, can you do so anymore? Fat chance. In reality, I think even ancient homage paid to supposedly “holy” men was misplaced. The church sells death insurance with the promise that if you become a holy soldier today, they will take care of your soul after you die. Good luck on collecting! Nice scheme though, you’ve got to give them credit. Offer a product that they claim they pedal “on the other side.” No overhead, no shipping costs, no nothing, only profit. The only catch is getting people to swallow the idea without chocking on their dismissive laughter. Somehow, the church managed to pull that off.
The president of the US, or any political leader for that matter. Ha! Trust those jerk-offs? Are you kidding? Everybody knows that all politicians are thieves and liars, yet nobody does anything about it. What kind of social reform would be necessary to get good people in charge? And don’t give me this crap about how you can’t fix the system because the corrupt people are already in power. All you have to do is get the supposedly intelligent people of our age working on a solution and then have them inject the demand for this solution into our modern media. Once a belief system is floated and accepted in some 100 million dollar Hollywood movie, you might as well accept that it will soon be integrated into reality. But nobody gives a shit, not really, they all claim to have the interests of the human race at heart, but when push comes to shove, the only thing they care about is themselves. I don’t believe this is a fundamental truth that applies to all human beings, we just keep letting the assholes who think this way rise to the top like shit cream.
The media. Yeah, the guys who earn their meal ticket by making up lies and then defiantly insisting that it is true. They can’t get one God-damned thing right, and when they do stumble across something that is actually accurate, they bury the information in fear of legal action taken on behalf of the forces of evil! The current situation in America is so close-lipped that you can’t even publish your own personal internet page without suffering some form of censorship or threatening attack. The message being sent out is clear, the truth kills. Great, I just love the foundation such an attitude sets for tomorrow. Cowardly bastards.
Your parents. Nope, can’t trust them. They just view you as little money pits that have prevented them from saving up the fifty million dollars they feel they were entitled to have received by now. Obviously, it was money and not your unconditional love that would have made them happy, so they resent you in favor of some idiotic fool’s dream that is forever beyond their reach and would have remained so even if they had never had you. But still, you have to constantly pay for this. And they sure as shit aren’t going to help you in anyway to achieve the happiness they were denied. They’re going to sabotage you at every corner, just out of pure resentment, and, what’s worse, society at large is going to demand that you show them “deserved” respect as they do it. Crock!
Fast food restaurants and soft drinks. Nope, they just want to suck money out of you by selling you their poison until it kills you. In days gone by, this would have been considered “bad” but since these jerk-offs have so much money, they are able to pay off all the supposed law-keepers in order to maintain their rights to the gold mine. Paying off some official from the department of health and human services is a small price to pay to keep the spigot cranked to maximum money flow. And their propaganda is so strongly inundated into your regular life that you don’t even recognize that you’re under the control of their subliminal messages. Little test: How would you like to eat two pieces of ultra-processed meat and fat slabs, thrown together with week old lettuce, rancid tomato, a ton of mayonnaise to hide the flavor, and probably some sort of bodily secretion ranging from semen to blood to sweat (because the only people who put these sandwiches together are irritated teens who could care less), and with enough cholesterol to kill a baby elephant? Sound rancid? Of course it does, now try this: Who wants a Big Mac? Yummmm, and why is that appetizing even though you KNOW that the above horrific description is an accurate definition of the world’s most famous sandwich? BRAIN-WASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you trust modern poets or writers? Nope, it used to be that artist types were on a quest for the truth. Now they just want to get their little piece of the transcendental so that they can turn it into dollars by advertising for some jerk-off corporation. It used to be that artists were considered sell-outs when they started lending everything they stood for in the glory of some idiotic product. Now, that’s just accepted without a blink, even to the point where the spokespeople are being artificially created just to squeeze out the real achievers. Take Brittany Speers for example, she can’t sing, can’t dance, can’t write her own music, and seems to have been artificially created in a lab just to do ads for Pepsi. Why don’t they give John Updike the job? Because he’s just considered the world’s best living writer, he’s not an advertising icon.....arghhhh!
Teachers, colleges, etc. Nope, they all peddle bullshit. It’s not about truth or philosophy anymore, it’s about constructing identical cog workers to fit into the corporate machine. You don’t go to school to wrestle with the tough ideas that have been hounding mankind for centuries. They gave that up a long time ago, there isn’t a bottom line in that, they consider it a waste of resources. Better to get workers who know IN ADVANCE how to stack a Big Mac properly. That way, they students spend the money for their own training and McDonald’s doesn’t have to waste the five minutes of man power or productivity for on the job training.

Based on what’s out there, the best course of action appears to be doing nothing. It seems all our institutions have been corrupted and are converging on a path to evil. You can come along for the ride, work like a dog, and be under-appreciated and under-paid, or you can put up a futile resistance and die pathetic, alone, and disliked.
