Suklall, a father of two, is alleged to have murdered 23-year-old Samantha Ganesh on October 5 during an argument at their Lot 36 Uitvlugt Pasture home.
He will return to court on November 13 for report.
Neatly dressed in a blue jersey and a pair of khaki pants, Suklall appeared at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court with scores of relatives behind him.
He reportedly failed last Wednesday in an attempt to commit suicide while at the Leonora Police lock-ups.
Yesterday, visible to this newspaper, were two wounds to the left side of his neck which he allegedly made during the suicide attempt.
The police are alleging that around 6:45 pm on October 5 Suklall stabbed Ganesh in the heart.
He is also said to have accidentally injured his one-year-old son Randy Suklall during the incident.
Since the couple got married they had been living at the home of Ganesh’s parents at Lot 36 Uitvlugt Pasture, West Coast Demerara. Ganesh died from a perforation to the heart, a post-mortem report revealed. She was cremated at the Ruimzeight Foreshore last week.
Relatives had told this newspaper that ever since the couple got married their relationship had been plagued with many domestic problems
