fish tank airation
Now Playing: fish tanks and the types of airation devicesout there
The reason that we airate a fish tank is so that the fish can have air to breath. now when you use an under gravel filter system you should be advised that it may not be a sufishont air suply in that case you should have a (n) extra source of air for the fish thank. especaly if you have more than one fish species. such as a calico fantail and a black moor which you can see pics of obove this artical.
so there are differend kind of these devices such a a bubble stone that is for small tanks and are reitively cheap and dont really last aa long time. and there are bubble stones that sit under the gravel those are good for a five to ten gallon tank.
the next kind is a(n) bubble cord that hangs on the side of the tank (flexible and not). personaly i use a combanation of a under gravel stone and a bubble cord (non-flexible).

minute check up (gold fish)
Now Playing: how to tell a if fish is healthy or not
when fish hang out by the intake valve(s) it could be one of two things:1. not eniough aration in the water. 2. is it could be a parisite. to solve the problem of the airation valve add more airation via the gang valve. but if its a parisite you should see the parisite in and on the gills, to treat gat a med. that can kill the parisite. If your fish is gulping air from the top of the water means that there is not eniough airation to solve this problom folow the instructions above.Stress and the immune system is a very common and sometimes deadly if it has not been adressed and changed.
it may be that there are to many fish in the tank. rule of thumb is that there should be one fish for every gallon. For exsample a ten gallon tank you should have ten or less fish.

fish tips
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: My fish
My fish are between 1-3 mounths old. I have 3 black moors and two calico fantails one alge eater and on goldfish. I have had them in a ten gallon tank and there doing good. If you get a black moor you will want to put as little strees on them as posible because it could cause them to get ick. ick is a parasite that if not treated can kill the fih.
