Sorry, but I've gotta keep this pretty short. I've got some more classes in less than an hour, and I need all the time I can get to be ready. I'll try to elaborate on these entries later!

I arrived in San Fran, attended the conference. Kid named Alec was my roommate, was very funny.

Get on plane, spend the rest of the day talking to other kids and reading on plane.

Arrive in Beijing, stay inhotel close to school. Got 50 dollars changed into 400 yuan, roomate is will now. Always smiling.
8/29
I couldn't sleep very late, so I got up at 5:44. by 6:30 me and my roomate were out and we decided to jog around the neighborhood. Met a chinese guy, then more kids at 7:00 and tried to talk to the guy. Played a hackysack like game at a nearby park, then ate breakfast at 7:45 at Taiping Jiaozi guan. Took a tour of the school, we have to walk up 6 flights to get to our classes, Tvs in practically every room. Basketball courts, tennis, pingpong, soccer, pool. Advisory groups are 12 people, classes are smaller. We talked in our groups, then got SYA tshirts, took pictures, ate at the restaraunt again, did a scavenger hunt, found giant peaches, found not water stuff, went back for SAT registration. dinner. Tried to study chinese, didn't work, watched a little chinese prince of tennis, went to sleep at about 8:00

Got up at 4:30, didn't have time to jog or hacky, packed up for meeting host families. Chinese placement test, very hard, put down whatever characters I recognized, or put down "C". Got my locker, locks are cool cause you can dissasemble them and choose your own combination. Made some group poster, went over major policies, ate lunch. another poster, q and a about host families, went to meet families. I met mine, they don't speak English, so I just kinda followed them. I have a host brother that speaks some english, he will come by for dinner with his wife. live a couple blocks from the school, I got my own room. went to sleep at around 8:00.
