Someone Cares

I've been thinking of my friends that are deployed and I stumbled upon this bible passage. I know that most of them aren't religious or spiritual in any way, but it's still comforting to know there's a higher power that cares.

I will lie down and sleep in peace,

for you alone, O LORD,

make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:8

Retention
Tomorrow is the day sports fans. At 1030 Friday morning, I will be re-enlisting for three more years in the armed services. This will change my end of service date from 9 Aug 05 to 28 Oct 08. At least I'll be getting a big chunk of change for selling those three years to Uncle Sam.

A Lawn Growns in Germany!

I now have a LAWN! I'm so excited. It's not as

beautiful as my Dad's lawn was when I was growning

up, but it WILL be by next year! GO ME!

While I Was Away...
I went to a conference that was one of the MOST uninteresting things of my life.

Then I went on holiday for 2 weeks.

The kids were AWESOME. We went to two pumpkin patches and the zoo. I was able to celebrate my birthday with my niece and my Sis-n-law baked my cake. It wasn't too fancy but exactly what I wanted, a crown and a fairy princess wand, thanks Kris.
I took on a VERY big project. I repainted the toy room at my parents' house. I wouldn't have been able to finish it without the help of my Dan, thanks Dan. What we did was painted the upper ? of the room sky blue and the lower ? grass green. In one of the corners we painted a big tree that straddled two of the walls (Bill drew tree Dan and I painted it). After the walls dried, we pinned some cloth 3D butterflies to the walls and in the tree. It took us about 10 days to finish the project. I'm hoping to get a few pictures of it to put up on the picture page. That's about it for now.

Loves –N– Hugs to all,

Salina.

Holiday
I have a conference in Baltimore, MD and then I'll be going home on holiday starting 1 October with a return date of 18 October. I plan on visiting LOTS with family, sleeping, and maybe going to the zoo w/ my niece and nephews is the weather permits.
That's all for now, besides:

Tammy – see you in November

Dan – See you in October

Cris – Hope to see you this coming summer.

Re-enlistment
So... I'm talking w/ the retention NCO today and he tells me that if I go to Korea for 3 years I'll be getting $400 extra a month instead of $300. I'm taking a poll to see if I should:

1. Not Re-enlist
2. Re-enlist
3. Re-enlist for 3 years w/ 1 year in Europe and 2 in Korea
4. Re-enlist for 4 years w/ 1 year in Europe and 3 in Korea

Lines are open now, just click on "post your comment" at the bottom of this message and state Option 1, Option 2, Option 3, or Option 4. All polls will be closed by Friday, 9 September 2005, at 6 AM European Daylight Savings Time.

And the beat goes on...
It's been 15 days since I last wrote... been VERY busy... I was acting supervisor for the last 2 weeks and now I'm back to being a pee-on... this is GREAT!

They're trying to convince me to re-enlist for Korea... it's a BIG bonus ($27342 for 3 years) under the AIP (if I go to Korea for 2 years it's an extra $300 a month) which equals $34542 extra pay for what's ACTUALLY 2 years longer

I have to think and pray hard on that one.

!!!FINALLY!!!
I pinned on my rank today. Boy does it SUCK like a Hoover Handy Vac. I have to be the acting leader for my group because the actual leader is in a class for the next two weeks. Did he tell ME he was going to be gone? HECK NO!

Whoever said that "Rank has it's privileges" SUCKS!
