- Joseph: "Well guys, it looks like we're not going to have a meeting before registration after all, therefore, I don't think we'll have the time to set up a banner and lights. Besides, from the comments I've read, I think most of us officers are against it."
- Bonita: "agree w/ joseph; a bit much."
- Annemarie: "I appreciate your guys' concern not to seem prideful. I agree that
we shouldn't brag about being seniors, but take advantage of the opportunity as the leaders of the high school classes to set an example in servant leadership. However,
let me share with you some additional thoughts I have on this.
... I think that 2 of our goals as class officers should be to create class spirit within the senior class
and to help our class bond. I think the whole banner/lights/music idea is one small way to do that. Just because no one else has ever done it before doesn't mean no
class should do it. For all we know, other classes could be planning something similar or will want to do something similar for their own classes. Moreover, the idea
for the banner was for it to say something like, "Welcome Back Class of 2004!" This shouldn't have the effect of putting down other classes, for it's not like it would
say "Senior Class Rules" or "2004 Above the Rest." The senior class is like our team and by doing the banner/lights/music idea is merely a way of cheering on our own team.
:)
... If you guys would still prefer not to do this, would you like to generate some other ideas that we could do during the first week that would create excitement and
help us to bond as a senior class?"

- Andy: "I don't like the banner thing um or the lights the other things are up to you guys
but it is all cool with me =)."
- Andrew: "I tend to agree with joe...no one's done it before, at least not that recently, and
it'd be kinda intimidating and 'show-offish.'"
- Jenni: "cool idea but would take work that we don't really have to do...he he he lazy me..."
- Arlene: "I think fairy lights are cute... I don't think it would be too show-off-ish if
it's just in the entrance like annemarie suggested, and I don't think a little banner would
be too intimidating."
