Uniforms and Insignia of the HG Panzer Division

Picture from the History of the Fallschirmpanzerkorps Hermann Göring, by Franz Kurowski.

The above picture illustrates the differences in the HG Panzer Division's uniforms, from the regular army uniform. The HG Division wore the Luftwaffe blues, which was a faded blue-grey uniform, different than the standard feldgrau worn by the Heer. The German army style eagle was replaced with the Luftwaffe eagle, over the right breast pocket. Also, the addition of the HG cuff title, on the right arm.

The two men in the background wear the normal tropical uniforms of the HG Division. The two men in the foreground wear the Waffen SS camoflauge pattern uniforms which were issued in limited numbers to the HG Division. Only about 20% of the HG soldiers received such valuable camoflauge clothing.
