Days 7&8 - Kusadasi and Athens

Our next two stops were Kusadasi, Turkey and Athens Greece.  Kusadasi was probably one of my favorite places.  The people there were much nicer than in Greece, and it just seemed to have a better atmosphere.  Of course some of the shopkeepers were a little agressive, but who can blame them, they live off of tourism.  It also helped that one Dollar was over one million Turkish Lira.  Athens was also great.  We went to the acropolis (not to be confused with the apocolypse) and toured around there for a while.

The stadium at the ruins of Ephesus. The most incrdible thing about it is that it is till in use today. In fact Elton John played there the night before we were there!
The library of Ephesus

A bunch of heds at the Ephesus Museum.  They room next to this had a whole bunch of bodies without heads.  You'd think that they could have matched these heads with some of the bodies next door.

This is the entrance to the Acropolis.
The Erictheion, the temple to Athena, Poseidon and some other gods as well. To the right is the Parthenon, a little known fact about it is that the scaffolding and crane were actually in the original plans for the parthenon.  You can see here that they have been added in for effect, the originals are in England with the rest of it.
