I may add some strategies later.

- | Story | Requirements | Features | Screenshots | Strategy | - StarCraft is a very legendary game. It may have been more of a remake of WarCraft 2, but StarCraft is still one of a kind. This game was made by Blizzard Entertainment and was released in 1998. I remember reading some reviews about the game when it came out, and somewhere it said "if you go out to buy pizza, then you will lose" probably referring to those Civilization games ^^.

Here are some pictures of the beta:

From what we see many things were different.

This game has three very unique, and balanced races: Terran, Zerg, Protoss. Each of the races has its own single player campaign, and you basically "play the story" which is pretty entertaining.

But the campaign isn't the reason for StarCraft's success, it was Battle.net, where players are almost unlimited, and you can always find a game, but most important of all, this is all FREE! There is a ladder system, where you can climb ranks, but I don't recommend it because of people hacking I myself only played the campaigns in the beginning, but one day my parents granted me the internet password and I went online playing my first game. I saw a really huge increase in my skills.

Another thing StarCraft is known for is the simple campaign editor, where you can make your own custom levels: imagine it, Lord of the Rings, but on StarCraft, its one of the things my friends said was bull until they tried the game for themselves. There is almost no limit to what you can do with Staredit (there is, but you get what I'm saying).

If you have just begun the game, try playing on non money maps: ones that usually have 1500-3000 per mineral patches, because its good in the long run. Or if you just can't get enough of money maps, I urge you to only play Big Game Hunters, because after all, its the most balanced money map.

This game was hurt by hacks, abusers, and idiots, but it still continues on because of the communities formed over the years. There are a vast number of clans on bnet, some smaller and less known, others bigger and worldwide known, but we owe this to Blizzard, who may be greedy and stubborn at times.
