August 1994 - The IL-941st AFJROTC unit is activated.

"The Illinois 941st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) was established at Dupo Community High
School in the fall of 1994 by agreement between Dupo Community School District #196 and the United
States Air Force. Dupo, in cooperation with Columbia High School, have joined together to
establish a program for all students in grades 9 through 12.
The AFJROTC curriculum includes aerospace science related academic instruction and leadership
training.
Colonel Dale Davidson and
Chief Master Sergeant Donald Blanchette are retired from the Air Force and have over 50 years
of experience in professional education and Air Force training.
The cadet corps is managed and operated by cadet commissioned and noncommissioned officers. Through the cadet organization,
cadets learn self discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills."
